I am able to POST to lab_orders and create an empty order.

Is it possible to create a labcorp order with its tests and send through the API?

And, what is the workflow for doing that?

Is this the only documentation that exists?: https://app.drchrono.com/api-docs

I feel like I'm missing some important documentation that describes entity relationships or sequences, and context.

Hi Joshua,

It is not possible to order a labcorp test via API. Our lab endpoints are typically for lab vendors who would like to connect to a drchrono account. In that sense, it is not possible to send any orders to labs directly.

Yes, that is our only documentation and our older one here: https://app.drchrono.com/api-docs-old/v4/documentation#

I am in the process of creating documentation that will supplement our API docs, once completed I am looking to attach it to our API documentation.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Best,
Assaad

Thank you Assaad,

Is this something that can be supported? Or will ever be supported?

Also, I notice that I am able to create a new LabCorp order record through the api with no associated tests. Is there a workflow that would support generating draft orders that can then be sent manually?

Hi Joshua,

It is something that will not be supported, unfortunately.

Yes, you can create a lab order using the labcorp and other sublab codes but it will not be pushed to labcorp. There isn't a flow that would support creating a draft order that a user can finish in the UI. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Best,
Assaad
