Lost work

Hi there

I spent hours last week creating some diagrams. I also constantly saved them to "my device".

Now when I try and open they are the original templates I created them from rather than my updated diagrams and if I try and save them I get the error

"app.diagrams.net will be able to edit diagname.drawio until you close all tabs for this site"

Note: I don't have any tabs other than this one open

Hi,

did you create a diagram in diagrams.net online https://www.diagrams.net/ and saved to device, please?

Was autosave option ticked under Extras (you mentioned you constantly saved them to device)?

Could you attach a print screen when the error you mentioned shows? Did you check if you maybe saved separate diagram files with different edit versions?

Hi There,

I created a diagram based on a template. The autosave is on as well (I didn't realise it was there... thats great).

Yes I checked if I had inadvertantly saved as different file and I didn't.

Not game to reboot my laptop in case I can somehow get back.

Thanks for the additional details. You could try to save the work as described here: https://desk.draw.io/support/solutions/articles/16000089553-how-to-save-a-draw-io-diagram-when-standard-saving-fails

and test if you see the same error in other browsers and Incognito mode. Also, clear browser cache in a preferred browser.

When it comes to lost edits, I am afraid I am not able to help additionally :( I would suggest to save files to Google Drive or OneDrive because they support version history.

Since autosave was on, not really sure why the latest edits weren't saved.

If you saved them to device they will be in the default download folder of your browser.
