How to get browser back to normal mode

I'm trying to get the diagrams.net browser UI in normal mode shown in the FF screenshot back to normal mode on Chrome.  I somehow got the Chrome browser into the alternate mode shown in the Chrome screenshot.  I've tried clearing the Chrome cache and restarting, but I can't get Chrome back to the normal mode.  The same happened with my FF browser at one point but FF eventually went back to normal mode.  How can I change Chrome (or any browser if needed) from alternate mode to normal mode?  

This Chrome screenshot is alternate #2.  Chrome was stuck on alternate #1 (no screenshot available) for a couple of months where there where 3 icons at top left to open a free-standing format panel and shapes.  Alternate #1 was alright after I became use to what the 3 icons were for.  Alternate #2 just started happening and requires getting used to.  I'm used to normal mode though.
