Draw.io desktop updates wipeout desktop shortcut. Windows can't find app to run it

This happened the last couple of times: Neither I nor Windows can find draw.io app after an update. Latest update to v21.7.5 wiped it out again. The only way I can get an icon on my desktop is to uninstall, download, and reinstall a new version.

I have an excellent uninstaller program and it did uninstall v21.7.5 but there were still a dozen or more related files peppered all over my drives.

I cleaned up everything, downloaded the latest version, reinstalled, and got a desktop icon. But every time now?

Or must I use the browser version?

So I tried this again on a different computer with the latest upgrade and it seemed to work fine. Go figure.
