What is the format of the supported XML file? Is there any documentation for it?

it is great to know that draw.io can import and export from/to XML file, but I wonder if there is any documentation for the XML format that draw.io supports?

In details, when analyzing the generated XML file, I have come across strange elements such as "<mxGraphModel>...</mxGraphModel>", is there any documents listing and explaining the use case of these elements?
