to draw.io Q&A
Hi,

I’m currently working on a family tree project with 500 members spanning seven generations. I’ve used boxes for pictures and names, connected by lines to indicate relationships. However, the layout has become messy, with inconsistent box sizes and misaligned lines.

Is there a way to select the entire page and standardise the size of the picture boxes while adjusting the spacing between them? Given the size of the tree, manually adjusting each box individually isn’t feasible.

Any advice or tools to help streamline this process would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,
Saeed

I'm not sure if you're aware of the tools under the arrange tab (in the format pane -- view->format), but if you're not using "align", "distribute", and copy size/paste size already, they might be helpful for your workflow. "Group"ing shapes (say, one branch of the tree) is also generally quite helpful.

To the other part of your question: I'm not aware of ways to select all of a certain type of shape.

Good luck,
JD
