tooltips on open source version?

Hello, 

I am using the open source version of draw.io. While trying to insert metadata/ tooltips to a certain shape in my diagram I do not receive any error message - I have studied the respective tutorials and proceeded accordingly the directions in there.

Having saved all changes it still doesn't look/ work out the way it's supposed to do: no tooltips show up when hovering over the respective shape.

Is me using the open source version the problem or am I juest missing some decisive detail?
