Highlight connections on click on a shape

I have a complex diagram with many connections between shapes. It would be useful if I can highlight all outgoing connections from a shape which is clicked on.

I found highlight actions (https://desk.draw.io/support/solutions/articles/16000080137) which would solve it, but it looks like it supports only absolute reference (ID). Relative reference would be much simpler - e.g all immediate connections from the shape. Is there any other way how to do it or a plan to support it?
