to draw.io Q&A
I'm making a very simple project, one "diagram" with all classes and feats in DnD.

From up close:Img1.jpg

At a distance:

But here's how it looks like once exported to png or jpg, although I kept zoom at 100%:

I straight up see no reason for such thing to happen, just feels like draw.io is incapable of converting vectorial graphics into static images effectively.

It works in svg obviously but I don't want an svg, I need an image that's easy to navigate with any software.

Is that possible?

to draw.io Q&A

Looking at your images, I can see what's happening here. This is actually a common issue with a straightforward solution - it's not a limitation of draw.io's vector-to-raster conversion, but rather an export settings issue.

Before I give you the fix, let me ask a couple of clarifying questions to make sure I point you in the right direction:

When you export to PNG/JPG, what settings are you using?

Specifically:

  1. Are you going through File → Export as → PNG/JPEG?
  2. In the export dialog, what value do you have set for "Zoom" (or "Scale")? If you left it at 100%, that's your problem.
  3. How large is your diagram in terms of page dimensions?

The likely fix: Your diagram is physically very large (covering many D&D classes), but you're exporting at 100% zoom, which creates a 1:1 pixel mapping. When you then view that huge image at a size that fits your screen, your image viewer is downscaling it and it looks blurry.

Try exporting with:

  • Zoom set to 200% or 300% (or higher for a diagram this size)
  • Or increase the DPI setting if available

This gives you more pixels to work with, so when someone zooms into the exported PNG, the detail is preserved.

Can you confirm what export settings you're currently using, and I'll give you the exact steps to get a crisp output?
