Mysons birthday is the day after tomorrow, and he is really into the Paintball thing. Has anyone done a paintball theme before? Or does anyone have any ideas??? He will be 23, so he's not a kid anymore, but he goes to paintball tournaments often.

I have racked my brain for a week trying to come up with something, to no avail! HELP!!!

Try searching the Gallery. I saw several there.

Draw a gun with letters in paint splats

Just big paint splats all over would be cute ( I saw on that had gumballs in the paint splats to simulate the paint balls.)

If X-Ball is the 50-yard dash of paintball, scenario games are the marathon. In this version of the sport, a single game may last an entire weekend and involve hundreds or even thousands of players. Each game has a theme, often a movie, video game or historic event. All the players are divided into two teams, and writers develop scripts and objectives for each team.

Chester Bombriant (or "General Chester," as he answers the phone) has been playing scenario paintball since 1991. As a general in more than 20 games, including "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" at First Strike Paintball in Newberry, Bombriant has commanded teams of up to 500 players. His favorite games are those with a historic theme, such as the Battle of the Bulge, D-Day and the Vietnam war.

Fifty-one-year-old Bombriant, who lives in Palm Bay, has traveled all over Florida, into Georgia and even to Chicago once for a Star Trek-themed game with William Shatner. In September, he will serve as general for the annual game at military Camp Blanding in Clay County, which he considers the World Cup of scenario play.

Preparation for scenario weekends may take weeks or even months. Gainesville resident John Youmans spent two months sewing a faux-fur costume for his role as the killer white rabbit in a "Holy Grail" game in Georgia. A cardboard frame and orange fabric transformed his paintball gun into a carrot.

First Strike's half-dozen scenario weekends each year attract hundreds of players from all over the Southeast, says co-owner Stephanie George. The network of friendships that scenario players develop keeps them coming back.

VFX has had a lot of inquiries from paintball park owners about our themed fields and props. Many have asked why something like this would benefit their business and their players. We decided to write up an article to help explain why we feel the investment on themed fields could lead to a massive increase in new players and existing players coming back more often to play.

CPX Sports in Joliet, IL created the Town of Bedlam, a million dollar, ten block town that is complete with a city theme, doors, windows, vehicles and other elements you would find in a city. The field quickly proved that themed fields are something the customers want and love to play on and will keep them coming back to play. Another field that recently proved that themed fields are a great investment is Paintball Explosion out of East Dundee, IL. This paintball park installed a field called Nuketown2013 which is a replica of the map from the very popular Call of Duty video game. After installing the new field, the park has seen a major increase in new players and having them return to play again. In fact, another paintball field in Georgia called Hoppers Paintball has even installed their own version of the Nuketown map. Talk about a popular theme!

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions. Custom Paintball and Airsoft bunkers and themed fields are only a small part of what we can do and we have the ability to create just about anything you could want out of EPS foam.

Scenario paintball is a colloquialism used to represent a diverse array of paintball events that encompass many themes that may include historical re-enactments, movies, current pop culture, futuristic or video game simulations, and more. Others have no theme at all. They frequently feature game mechanics such as "medics" and "snipers" and "helicopters" carried out through various simulations. The common denominator for this type of play is anywhere from 75 to 5000 players, with at least 6 hours of continuous play. These events average 12 hours of game play across a weekend in 2 major play periods. The longest and most challenging events run 24 hours straight with no breaks, with elite players covering ultra marathon distances. Instead of playing on a single field at a venue, all fields are combined into one continuous playable area. To further enhance the theme of a game, field locations may be named for important story locations, and props of various sorts are added to the game. These may be objects that players collect for points, or even vehicles that take part in the fighting, like paintball tanks. Players may don costumes specific to the theme, such as historic military uniforms or other costumes.

A Big Game is a type of scenario game that revolves around territory control with very few specific tasks given to players. They may or may not have a theme. These are designed for paintball first and foremost, but sometimes feature simulations. As player density at events increases, the tactics become increasingly Napoleonic, moving principal masses of players into perceived weak points to gain territory.

A Paintball Scenario is a type of scenario game that revolves around 2 large sides of players performing specific tasks. These tasks at their core are designed to entertain players and encourage paint consumption by placing 2 relatively balanced teams in the same place at the same time. The tasks can be very simple such as a "take and hold" of territory on field, or very complex involving many locations, role-playing, mini games, and more. Game tasks are distributed by giving the task to an assigned commander for the team, who chooses players to carry out the task. Sometimes these tasks are simply put on a poster for all to see.
