Hey all.  I just discovered Drake and am super excited about it.  As a journalist who does heavy data processing, I was using Make to document and make repeatable the processing steps but Make is pretty dense and fails at certain things.  Drake seems to solve most of my issues.

But, it looks like it hasn't seen a commit in about a year, and I was just wondering if it's still actively being worked on, or maybe its just mostly complete.

I don't know any closure and don't have much free time these days, so I don't have the ability to pick up the project.

Hi Alan, thanks for the note! It's true that Drake doesn't see active development these days. While there is plenty TODO, I think it's arguably a solid "version 1" product, with a lot of features. Let us know how it goes!

Thanks, Aaron.  Just a quick response is a good enough sign.  I already started moving ahead and am really digging it.  I might try to do some pull requests around documentation/README since some great features are harder to find in the spec doc.

Following up in the same vein, is it no longer in very active development due to some other alternatives having showed up, or just because of the usual reasons?

Hi Matan, I'm not sure what the leading alternatives are these days (@All: please chime in if you've been migrating over to something else!)

As for the lack of active development, my view is mostly, " just because of the usual reasons".

And, as always, PRs are welcome!   8-]
