Three months ago, I was standing in the pouring rain, reading my best friend's sorry, but I can't make it text, looking for some way to salvage my birthday. And he was there. Nick. The tall, handsome stranger in a three piece suit. He offered me his coat. He invited me to his room. He possessed all of me: heart, body, soul, then, in the morning, he was gone.
For three months, memories of him lingered in my mind. The earthy cologne. The rough brush of his stubble. The low, deep groan as he buried himself in me.
For three months, my heart ached for another chance to whisper promises in his ears.
Yesterday, I interviewed for an internship I need desperately.
Today, my new boss called me into his office. And there was Nick, in his three piece suit.
His dark eyes fixed on mine as he dragged out his words. "Ms. Wilder, is there anything you need?"
My dirty boss wants me. But he has rules about this kind of thing.
I have to choose: the job that keeps me with my family or the man who holds the key to my heart.
I could have my own bakery if I wanted, and my older brother would have it set up for me in a heartbeat. The problem is that I have something to prove. I'm not a spoiled girl who gets everything her brother throws her way, but people have always assumed it, so I've worked tirelessly to get perfect grades in my pastry program. Now, to show off my skills in a bakery. The only problem is everyone believes I got the job by sleeping with my new boss. And I am.
I'd been working nearly a year in my position when I'd been unceremoniously bumped up to the secretary for the boss upstairs. Unfortunately, I had two problems with that; his employees were notorious for dropping like flies, quitting, or getting fired. I didn't want either. Second, he set off emotions I thought were only in books. My heart couldn't handle being around the man, and now I was forced to be in his presence every day.
Dirty Colossus is a Boss in Demon's Souls and Demon's Souls Remake. Bosses are special enemies that feature their own arena, a large and prominent health bar with its name indicated, a variety of unique moves and abilities, an ambient boss theme, and an Archstone that appears upon their death. Most bosses appear once the player passes through a fog gate nearby.
Dirty Colossus is the second boss in the Valley of Defilement Archstone, found at the end of the Swamp of Sorrow zone. It is a large slow moving beast with slow but powerful attacks that inflict damage over time. It also has a canon armor that can fire rapid attacks to counter ranged users.
Begin by shattering the armor covering the boss's abdomen which protects it from damage initially. If you are a ranged user you can do this without getting anywhere near the Colossus, but look out for his arm canon which fires out balls of damaging insects. These projectiles are pretty slow, so just sidestep between your attacks and you should be relatively safe.
If you do get hit with one of the insect clouds, heal up and reposition yourself behind cover. You can also run into the fire on the right side of the arena to burn the insects off (though this will damage you slightly, of course). From here, you can easily shoot magic or other ranged projectiles at Dirty Colossus. Spells like Soul Ray, Homing Soul Arrows, or anything fire-related work wonders against this boss. If you use Firestorm, you can beat Dirty Colossus in a couple hits, though it almost feels like cheating to do so.
As with most bosses, stick behind it, give it a few whacks and be on the lookout for its large AOE blast. If you see the boss start to charge up, step back and wait for the blast to happen, then run back in to keep attacking. If you stay right behind it, the only attack it can hit you with is the AOE blast, which is easily telegraphed.
Welcome to the Dirty Colossus boss fight. Similar to the previous fight against the Leechmonger, this is a pretty simple fight if you know what's happening and what to do. If you have no clue and go in blind there are a couple of little things that will make this fight incredibly annoying and frustrating.
Squeamish bosses who are uncomfortable with their authority are setting themselves up for failure. Leaders must embrace their role and set the expectation that everyone on their team is a subordinate who must deliver on their responsibilities. It must be clear that letting your boss down is a failure.
The Demon bosses in Demon's Souls are the hardest and most stressful part of the whole affair. Filling up on souls in the stage prior only to have to prove yourself against a giant enemy with a massive health bar to match is almost always a daunting task.
But don't worry, in this Demon's Souls guide we'll have you covered by breaking down each of the game's bosses and the best way to approach them. Take a deep breath, have a look at the tips below, and try your best to enjoy yourself and the challenge that the bosses pose.
Are the bosses in this area really pushovers compared to the actual content of the stages beforehand? Tell us we're not crazy in the comments below. For more on boss weaknesses and other helpful hints, take a look at the rest of our Demon's Souls guide.

You need to change the World Boss event to allow us access to each portal!!! Many many many of us can't get past Level 6 of the first portal! A boss with 120,000 life is ridiculous!!! Are the dev's trying to get people to quit??? Let me here your thoughts!
I think this is a test run for World Boss. It would be nice for all five portals to be opened at the same time. I can barely beat the level 1 boss so I cannot really add anything else for them to improve.
"Not long after Season 1 of Dirty Jobs premiered, Discovery ordered an additional 39 episodes. This was a pleasant, yet terrifying surprise. Pleasant, because it never occurred to me that Discovery would want more episodes of the show I had just begged them to buy, and terrifying, because the terms of my contract I had agreed to were not only inconsistent with those of a hit show, they were totally at odds with a hosting job whose primary hallmarks were pain and humiliation. So I arranged a meeting with my boss, to discuss a better deal.
If you do get covered in flies, they will eat away at you for a long time and do a fairly large amount of damage. There are several torches in the boss area which, when touched, will burn all the flies off of you. If you do it quickly enough, the fire damage from the torch can be avoided. Regardless, the damage from the fire is much less than that of the fly swarms.
This guy is really easy to kill with melee attacks. Just run behind him and start hacking away. Turpentine, Black Turpentine or a Dragon weapon are highly recommended since the boss is weak to Fire damage. Light Weapon and Cursed Weapon are also very useful (just watch your HP with Cursed Weapon). Make sure to rotate when he swings, but his punches should never hit you as long as you stay behind him. Every now and then he will stop and charge up to do an area effect attack. He will pull his arms in and almost curl up into a ball, and massive amounts of flies will buzz around him. He then shoots this sphere of bugs outward, kind of like God's Wrath, and it will knock you back and do a good chunk of HP if you're close to him. As soon as you see him start charging, run or roll backward a few times, wait for the attack to end, then run up behind him and start attacking again.
When first entering hide behind the first torch, draw him close. Then run to the other side of the area. Stand practically on the fog gate to the third boss. Position yourself in the middle of the dirt below the wooden planks. Move right up against the wooden planks and fire away with any bow. His fly swarms will completely miss you and smash in the planks in front of you. It's possible down him with less than 60 arrows on NG+ with a Lava Bow.
Like most enemies and bosses of large size, Dirty Colossus is also very weak to Firestorm. Dodge his projectile attack by locking on and rolling or sprinting, then let loose on him with Firestorm. Take a few Fresh Spice or Old Spice with you and you'll have him taken care of in no time.
For melee types, it's best to go into hyper mode. This means that you will have to go below 30% of your HP, and then equip Clever Rat's Ring and Morion Blade in your left-hand slot. Since you are close to a poisonous swamp, let yourself infect by poison, then eat Royal Lotus when below 30% HP. The Makoto also helps in the process. Also, it's heavily advised to have Second Chance when going in Hyper mode, since most bosses will be able to take you down in 1 or 2 hits since you have low HP.
Sometimes noise can even stem from maintenance issues such as cables, dirty pots and jacks on pedals and other gear, damaged amplifiers, poorly wound and installed pickups or other guitar electronics to name but a few common causes.
The Chelsea boss has been upset about a number of decisions against his side recently and was asked if he hoped the match officials - Anthony Taylor is the referee - won't be in the spotlight this time.
