I am using a FTDI Friend to try to send AT commands to a LT-22222-L.   I am receiving data but unable to get it to respond to the password or any commands. I have tried using Serial Port Utility and SecureCRT both of which I've seen in Dragino documentation.  No matter what I send I do not get a response.  Anyone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong?  Below is an example of the output.

Did you set hardware flow On? it should be off.

you can send us the screen shot of serial port setting and conneciton photo to double check.

Apparently I can't attach screenshots here.   But Flow Type is set to None.

Baudrate: 9600
Databits: 8
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
Flow Type: None

Connection looks fine:

1) How about change the dupoint cable?
2) how about change the USB TTL adapter?

Best Regards

Edwin,

I tried totally different USB->TTL adapter and changed the Dupont wires.

I actually have dozens of Dragino devices.

No problems with send or receiving via TTL:
  • LHT65-US915-E1
  • LHT65-US915-E2
  • LHT65-US915-E3
  • LHT65-US915-E5
  • LSN50-V2
  • LSE01-USLSN50-v2-US-16
Sending data does not work via TTL:
  • RS485-LN-US915
  • LT-22222-L-US915

Does the PRO button have anything to do with this?

Hi,

I am just catching up the conversation to tell you that for my own I could send commands to my LT-22222 and I didn't touch the PRO button at all. But I have to say that the first time I wanted to enter the password "123456" the LT-22222 didn't seem to react at all. I had to send the command maybe 10 times so that it was understood. As far as I can tell, it seems that when the device is trying to join a network in OTAA, I has trouble to monitor serial commands.
I am not sure, but I think you can enter "AT+FDR" first (even without password I can't remember).

On the photo you sent of your FTDI the GND pin doesn't have a solder joint coming out on the top side, like Rx and Tx. Maybe the LT-22222 is more sensitive to a great connection than the other devices. Or perhaps, there is a misconnection on PCB of the LT-22222.

Good luck on this ;)
Nicolas
