I am trying to configure a new Dragino RS485-LB and I am unable to communicate with it due to a persistent "Incorrect Password" error. I have tried connecting using two different methods, and both have failed.
My Setup:
Device: Dragino RS485-LB
Connection: PC via a 3.3V USB-to-TTL serial adapter. Wiring (GND, RX-TX swap) has been double-checked.
Problem Details:
1. Using a Serial Terminal (PuTTY):
The connection settings are correct (9600, 8-N-1, Local Echo is ON).
When I type the basic AT command and press Enter, the device immediately responds with Incorrect Password. This is unexpected, as this command should not require authentication.
2. Using the Dragino RS485 Configure Tool:
I also tried using the official graphical configuration tool.
The tool connects to the serial port successfully, but when I try to read the settings from the device, the console output shows an "Incorrect Password" error.
I have already tried a full power cycle of the device multiple times. Because the device immediately asks for a password even for the AT command, I cannot check the firmware version or other settings.
Could you please advise? Does this behavior indicate a firmware issue or that the device is locked in a special mode? What would be the next steps to recover or diagnose it?
Thank you for your help.
Best Regards
