We are looking to add a Dragino MDS200-LB to an approx 65 foot tank storing manure for biofuel.  Methane is a byproduct that is naturally vented at the top of the tank.  What is the hazardous compliance rating for this sensor - for explosion safety?  Is it rated class 1 div 1?  Is the sensor intrinsically safe?

Hi, John,

The MDS200-LB has not been tested for explosion safety. There is no rated about this.

Yours Sincerely!

John,

While this is a forum board and some geeky employees may know this I imagine you may have to contact sa...@dragino.com.  I used to work Petrochemical SCADA and we had 'intrinsically safe' ratings following the NEC codes.  This 'international' product may have ATEX (EU) or IECEx (International) certification.  the link below give a good explanation of the standards.
