Hey everyone!

Is there a way to group objects to make it easier to move/manipulate them? Example, I have several lights on a boom with a crosspiece and would love to be able to rotate it all at once without it going wonky on me.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi Amber,

I believe what you would like to do is select and group two Pipe objects that you are using to make a single position and rotate the whole thing like it was a Boom or Ladder object. Is that right? We do not currently have that functionality but it is on our list. I can review our current ToDo list and see about bumping up priority.

Consider this a vote for bumping. I have a similar/related request, I think. I've used several overlapping rectangles to create a single multi-faceted angled wall in the corner of a room. If I want to shift that whole wall, I need to individually shift-select each rectangle before I can move them as a related group. This gets very tedious. I can't find a way to simply click-drag to select the entire group* either, at least not without first unlocking them, which requires individually shift-selecting them anyway.

I understand the ability to draft complex polygons will be dropping Monday, which will obviate this specific need, but I can still see benefit of click-dragging to select a group of objects.

*This is even more difficult with Select-All, where I can't select locked items as a group without first unlocking them individually. For instance, I draft an entire set and lock all the elements. Then it turns out I want to shift the entire thing 1' SR. But I can't select-all to do so because they're locked; I need to individually shift-select each object, which takes forever. I feel like I must be doing something wrong. Advice?

We will bump the priority on this feature and see if we can't get it out in a timely fashion.
