Greetings Drafty users!

Drafty 2.3 provides you with some really solid drafting improvements to speed up your workflow.

1) NEW. Desktop Import. You can now import .drafty files directly into the application making the program fully functional OFFLINE.

2) IMPROVED. Color and Instrument totals print at the end of your Hookups.

3) IMPROVED. Opacity controls for all Scenic and Architectural objects.

4) NEW. Zoom to selection. Command-drag will zoom your view to the selection area.

5) NEW. Select a wire in the Signal Flow and add a passthrough object. Object is now added inline to the wire.

6) IMPROVED. Line length and angle can now be edited directly from line endpoints allowing for faster and more accurate drawing.

7) ADDED. Strand Leko Lite, SL, Acclaim, and Arena symbols

8) FIXED. Several bigs related to object layout and unit handling.

Happy Drafting!

Lucas,

I'm absolutely delighted to read that Drafty will now import .drafty files and work offline.

I work in many large German opera houses and European theaters where access to the internet is not provided which has sadly made Drafty difficult for me to use.

This update will now make Drafty my de facto tool for drawing my lighting plans.

Very well done and thank you.

John

Fantastic!

You will still need to have accessed drafty-app.com on your browser prior to entering a no wifi situation (so it is in local storage) but while offline you can still work.

Of related possible interest, I have been playing around with chrome://flags/#show-saved-copy which will more aggressively store, and allow re-load of, cached pages. We do not officially support this browser setting (it is experimental) and more testing needs to be done but it may be interesting to try out under non-critical conditions. It also runs counter to our official suggested best practices of always using Incognito Mode. However, it appears to be a decent solution, coupled with our desktop import, to solve for dodgey wifi situations.
