Each day, we will update this article with Wordle hints and tips to help you find today's answer. And if the hints aren't enough, we'll even give you the answer, in case you're really stuck or just haven't had time to complete today's puzzle. Plus, we are also including an analysis of yesterday's puzzle, #1,134, in case you're reading this in a different time zone.

Those hints should get you at least some of the way towards finding today's Wordle answer. If not, then you can read on for bigger clues; or, if you just want to know the answer, then skip down further for that.

Unsurprisingly, WordleBot's best Wordle start words improved on that significantly. SLICE leaves 12 answers, while CLOSE lowers that to ten. If you kicked off with SCANT, only eight options would be left over.

LIONS was a great way of doing this, even if it wasn't going to be the answer (plurals never are). Still, with 'O' turning green and a yellow 'S' revealed, I was down to ten possible solutions according to WordleBot*, making it pretty effective.

After some mulling, I did something risky and played a double letter with SCOOP. 'O' was confirmed as a single, but I did turn 'S' green and get a yellow 'C' for my trouble. Only two options were left.

WordleBot's best Wordle start words were significantly better than that, especially those containing 'I' or 'C', alongside 'E'. CARET, for example, leaves 32 answers, while PLACE lowers that figure to 17. If you tried SLICE, only five options would be left over.

Without one, you'll be scrabbling around in the dark trying (and possibly failing) to find the right five letters (or possibly fewer) out of the 26 possibles. But clever people (not me) have done the math and identified the best start words based on both frequency in English and frequency among Wordle answers. So use them!

Finally, try out possibilities. So long as you don't press 'Enter' you can try possible answers to see how they look on screen. Put in likely letters plus any you know are definitely in the word, then mentally change one to the other available options. This technique has worked for me multiple times, and it's particularly helpful when the word in question is not an obvious one (like FJORD or ISLET).

We also have plenty of Wordle tips and tricks to share, like how we've analyzed every Wordle answer used to look for trends and have some further advice for you there. And if you're new to the game you should also take a look at our What is Wordle? guide.

Wordle officially launched in October 2021, but actually started in June of that year and celebrated its first birthday on June 19, 2022. (You can read my thoughts on the 5 things Wordle needs to improve if it's to keep us playing on into a fourth and fifth year.)

However, it only grew in popularity towards the end of the year, then went viral in January as the world woke up to its charms. In fact, it proved so successful that The New York Times bought Wordle for a seven-figure sum in early February and the game is now part of NYT Games.

It's played via the NYT Games website here, and is entirely free. Both the NYT and the game's creator, Josh Wardle, have stated that it will remain free. Some people think that Wordle has got harder since the NYT takeover, but it really hasn't.

Wordle is a simple game in which your challenge is to guess a five-letter word in six attempts. Each time you guess, you're told which of your chosen letters are in the target word, and whether they are in the right place.

If you've solved Wordle and need help with other games from the New York Times, we suggest you check out our guide on today's NYT Strands answer, which will give you some hints as well as the full answer to today's puzzle.

Other Wordle alternatives to try are the ultra-stressful (but very good) Squabble and the soccer-themed, Who Are Ya?. We also like the geography-based Wordle clone Worldle, the Star Wars-themed SWordle and the math-based Mathler.

Is there a word/character limit in answers to an essay question in a quiz? I'm not expecting students to produce a 50,000-word dissertation in the time they have, but I'm wondering if there is a ceiling that I should be concerned with should a prolific thinker and fast typer produce a 5,000-word essay...

Hello @dcanfie1 and welcome to the Canvas Community! Thanks for reaching out and your question. You can set a limit if that was something you were interested in. I've listed below a few previous discussions in reference to essay word count and helpful docs:

I'm also trying to find this answer about Classic Quizzes. The first two links go to a release that notes that an instructor can see how many characters a student has submitted in their essay answer. not if there is a character limit on essay questions in Classic quizzes.

Jumble is a word puzzle which is played by scrambling the letters to make an anagram, based on some clue. Jumble Solver helps you solve such puzzles faster by using some clue such as scrambled letters or so.

A Jumble or Scramble Word Game is a game where a mixed up set of letters are provided and you have to unscramble the letters to find the word. Sometimes, clues are provided to help you figure out the puzzle. Other times, all you have are the jumbled letters.

Jumble games involve the skill of solving anagrams. Anagrams are all the words that can be created with the letters of one word or phrase. The difference between an anagram and a word jumble is that with an anagram you start with an existing word and you jumble the letters to create new ones. With a word jumble puzzle, you start with a random scramble of letters and you have to find the word within the jumble.

You enter the jumbled/scrambled words and it tells you the possible words or answers, that can be made from those letters (think of it like a single word anagram). So, if you frequently play daily jumble (or similar word puzzle), this little site might come in handy when you're stuck for long, use it as a learning tool or to solve disputes among your friends. Or maybe you could use this to cheat (sometimes) and win :-)

Once you identify whatever prefixes and/or suffixes are in your jumble, it will be simple from you to solve the puzzle from there. It will help you easily identify the word lost within the scramble of letters.

Noticing patterns of letters in words will help you quickly and efficiently solve jumble word puzzles. Once you identify these letter patterns in a puzzle, you will be able to quickly solve the puzzle after. Once again, this skill helps you when playing Words with Friends and Scrabble, too.

When it comes to solving word scramble puzzles, a piece of scrap paper can be a major help to you. When you write out the letters of the puzzle, it will help your brain make all the possible letter combinations to solve the puzzle. Also, writing helps cement the puzzle into your memory, so you will start to better understand patterns that will help you succeed at Words with Friends and Scrabble in the future.

Note: The top row on jumble solver displays only the words matching exactly with the letters, except when you use the advanced options or if you make use of any blank tiles (represented by space or ?). Below that, you see words with all combination of letters (three letter and two letter words), you may use this text twist solver, that also unjumble words for for text twist, scrabble, words with friends etc or this one for solving crossword puzzles.
