I notice that /FITLINE TOTAL=NO. is not an actual fonction, but when adding a "s" to FITLINE, it turns green, "TOTAL" turns red and "No". Running the syntax after this change does not do anything and I receive the same error message...

I'm having an issue installing SPSS Statistics on my home computer for use as a student. I disabled both AV/FW and ran the installer as administrator when I installed the software, launched the new license wizard, added the code, and received a "successfully processed all codes". On the licencing completed screen, I get this:

After some due diligence, I deleted the lservrc file and ran the law.exe as an administrator with the same results. I have no idea what to do now and would greatly appreciate a nudge in the right direction! Thank you!
The error you are getting seems indicative of a problem with the persistence information in the licensing. See this technote. The title indicates a different (but related) error and symptom. The process for clearing it is likely the same
IBM SPSS AMOS 28.0.0 (Build 3348709) and IBM SPSS Statistics 28.0.1.0 (142). I have been attempting to add the SPSS Statistic data file to SPSS AMOS to test a structural model. When I try to select the .sav document that I wish to add to the AMOS model, I get an error stating "The data file (file pathway information).sav, could not be opened for reading." There is no associated error code. The file is saved to my desktop, not from any other external drive. I have accessed the file through the finder with no issues so it should not be a pathway issue, and the data file in SPSS Statistics opens and runs on its own just fine. I have re-downloaded the SPSS Statistics data file to my desktop, no luck. I have ensured that the file is not read-only or un-editable. I was originally working on SPSS Statistics 21, so I uninstalled that version and switched to SPSS Statistics 28.0.1.0, the same error occurs. I have created a new test file in SPSS Statistics to see if it is an issue with the specific file that I was trying to add the data from, and I am still encountering this issue. I have closed and restarted both applications with no changes to the situation. The computer I am using is running Windows 10 Home Version 22H2.
I am wondering if anyone can offer any help to me, as all of my searches and attempts to troubleshoot the issue have been unsuccessful. I would greatly appreciate it if a workaround that would allow me to add the SPSS Statistics data to the AMOS model could be provided. I am new to using the AMOS software and appreciate any explanation or advice you can offer. Thank you.
EDIT-RESOLVED:
Unbeknownst to me, when I was working with the files on my desktop, they were automatically being linked to my OneDrive. That included when I downloaded them from my email attachments. Because they were in the OneDrive, they were in-use online even when they were not open on my desktop (that is my understanding). A fellow lab member helped me move the files from their online-saved versions to my desktop itself without saving to the cloud and it worked. Good to know that it will not work if it is being saved to a cloud drive service.

Two things stand out for me in your description above...
- You say you are able to access this file from the "finder". I usually encounter that term in this context when interacting with macOS users. Are you actually running Amos 28.0 on a Mac under Windows 10 Home Version 22H2 via Parallels?
- I'd interpret the message itself as saying there is a problem with permissions to this file. For example, are you trying to access this file while SPSS Statistics 28.0.1.0 still has it open, and thus has the file "locked"? If indeed you are running Amos via Parallels, then it could very well be a permissions issue between your macOS home directory structure and Windows (as managed by Parallels).
I am wondering if anyone can offer any help to me, as all of my searches and attempts to troubleshoot the issue have been unsuccessful. I would greatly appreciate it if a workaround that would allow me to add the SPSS Statistics data to the AMOS model could be provided. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me. My apologies, I am not using Mac with SPSS or AMOS. I use a mac for personal use that doesn't involve these softwares and was unsure of the terminology for going through my 'file explorer'. My experience with windows is limited, although I am using a windows desktop exclusively with SPSS softwares. As I am not using Parallels to be able to use SPSS on a mac, this is luckily (or unluckily) not an issue in this case.
I believe that I tried closing SPSS Statistics entirely when attempting to add the data file to AMOS, but I cannot recall completely which troubleshooting methods I tried in which order. This is the first thing I will try upon arriving in my research lab tomorrow morning. I will post an update once I've tested it. Thank you for clarifying this, I had misinterpreted the meaning of "permissions" to mean that it was uneditable or inaccessible (having downloaded the .sav dataset from an email from my research lab), but potentially having it open in SPSS Statistics at the same time would make sense. Thank you for your kindness, I am not savvy with these things and am very new to SPSS so I am grateful for your assistance. I hope you have a wonderful day!
When I came to my research lab this morning, I restarted my computer and made sure that SPSS Statistics was not open and none of the data files I had tried to load in before were in use anywhere (including a set of test data that I am 100% sure is not in use anywhere else) and attempted again to open SPSS AMOS and select data files. I am still encountering the same error. The issue does not appear to be that the files are open and in use (therefore locked) in another application (SPSS Statistics) or otherwise on my computer.
I am unsure if this information is relevant, but when I click on "Select Data Files" and the data files menu comes up, it says "Group number 1 " under group name and file, respectively.
I am at a loss as to what to try next. I appreciate your insights on this matter and I thank you for your kind assistance as I learn how to use these softwares.
