Master Data Management is a complex topic and a successful MDM project requires careful orchestration of the people, process and technologies involved.  Ultimately, MDM is a practice that is enabled by technology.

Aligning resources across an enterprise and even within a single department can be a formidable challenge.  Often we are faced with significant political issues that place project success at risk.  Compounding these basic innate human nature aspects are complex architectural concerns.

Identifying a common glossary of MDM terms can go a long way in coordinating teams and establishing a framework for success and agreement within an organization.  Before tackling complex data governance issues, basic terminology should be defined for domains, value and architectural styles. This alignment will help everyone to refer to the same basic tools to construct and decipher your MDM value business plan.

Download this eBook for a basic definition of MDM and introductory concepts for aligning resources and ensuring overall value for your MDM project.
