RADIO ISLAM ASSISTANT PRODUCER

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

Interns will work closely with the Radio Islam producer in tasks related to producing the daily radio program. This hands-on experience is ideal for any student looking to boost his or her resume with a unique opportunity to build essential contacts and skills. Two positions available immediately.

Essential duties and expectations may include the following (but are not limited to):

·         Monitoring news and current events

·         Along with Producer and other staff members, help brainstorm and generate show ideas

·         Help book guests in advance for upcoming shows

·         Maintain guest database

·         When needed, operate sound mixer for show recording and broadcasting

Qualifications:

·         Written and verbal communication skills

·         Communications/ Public Relations/ Marketing/ Journalism majors ideal, but not necessary

·         Ability to work independently or as part of a team and under strict time constraints

·         Experience with audio production and software is preferred

RADIO ISLAM EVENT INTERN

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

Event intern will work closely with the Radio Islam producer in tasks related planning and coordinating the annual fundraiser in May. This position is ideal for any student—especially in events and marketing, seeking to add event-planning and coordination to his or her portfolio or resume. One position will be available as a spring internship. Deadline is Dec. 16.  

Essential duties and expectations may include the following (but are not limited to):

·         Along with Producer and other staff members, help brainstorm and generate potential speakers and program ideas

·         Help contact and book speakers and sponsors

Qualifications:

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Communications/ Public Relations/ Marketing majors ideal, but not necessary

·         Event coordination experience a plus

·         Ability to work independently or as part of a team
