India’s First Monorail in Mumbai

India’s first monorail in Mumbai Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan has recently announced that “the first monorail service in the country will be rolled out (in Mumbai) later this year.” Expected to reduce traffic congestion between Chembur and Wadala, the project is estimated to cost over Rs 3,000 crore and will take another two to three years to be fully functional.
