Hello,

I'm using DPPDIV on CIPRES and I get from stderr: "ERROR: Problem adding a tip to the tree"

Hi Shea,

It seems like there may be an issue reading in the tree. You may want to check a few things: (1) make sure the tree is fully bifrucating and (2) rooted. If you still have problems, send me the tree file and I will look into it.

Hi Tracy,

It does turn out that the tree was not fully bifurcating. Fixed with multi2di() of R's ape package.

In hindsight I obviously should have checked the treefile. Hopefully this will serve as an effective signpost for future dummies.
