Usual routine, meet at CSG at 8.15 for an 8.30 departure.

Anybody had any thoughts on a route?

Wish I could join you...still suffering from the after effects of being knocked off the bike.

Probably be up and running in a few weeks.

Enjoy the ride.

I'll be in bed, hopefully without too much of a sore head. Last day in
job - leaving drinks tonight.

I’ll be there Adrian – a very dedicated Dyanne as birthday today but delaying the celebrations until tomorrow night so I can get a cycle in.

The rehab ride will be setting out as usual for a 'half distance' ride
at a leisurely rehab pace.

Mmm...was tempted to say I'd make it but just got into London after a long drive from the land of scotch and shortbread. Might nip out for a wee ride on Sunday though.

Mobility aids are almost compulsory on DPNC rides...And I won't be
breaking any land speed records tomorrow.

Rehabilitation ride minority report.

Dye and Peppi seemed to misunderstand the aims and purpose of the
rehab ride.

55kms and back home for 11:15am. Mrs CycleMonkey had to perform
emergency CPR on what remained of my body.

That was a wake up call. I almost got spat out the back of the rehab
ride ;-p

The rest of us managed 90km with 1,150m elevation gain at nearly 26kph thanks to a decent tailwind on the outward leg. Jim showed us his bmx skills shortly before Bough Beech Reservoir due to a touch of wheels which resulted in an endo with a little blood and a bent gear hanger. Hopefully both will be mended soon.

Thank you all for a great ride.

I'll be out on Sunday instead next weekend if anybody fancies it (para-cycling at Hillingdon on Saturday). If not, see you in a couple of weeks for the Ride of the Falling Leaves.

"a little blood"........ I'll have you know the tissue I used to stem
the haemorrhaging was barely reuseable by the time I limped home.
Fortunately Mr GB of South Croydon said he can fix the bent hanger but
there did seem to be a lot of "tuts" during our conversation. And
apparantly he has to send away for some very special parts!

Pinarello... Very special parts...

You might be entering liquidity crisis territory.

Perhaps you should put yourself down for this new BBC programme.

Thanks for the suggestion Cycle Monkey, but I think I'm a bit too old
for the fat young Brit role - but perhaps with a touch of make-up?
Fortunately the impending liquidity crisis may have been staved off
with the use of a bench vice and a 12" cycle monkey wrench. Test ride
tomorrow morning....

It is fun but the vice does need to be securely strapped to the bench
to avoid minor injuries.
There's no danger that this thread might be becoming at little silly -
is there?
