Seven out today.

95kms or so taking in Lingfield, Edenbridge, Hever Castle and the
usual hill suspects. Almost 1,200m of climbing at an average speed of
24.8kph.

Good crowd and thanks for waiting for me at the top of climbs.

Tour of Kent next week, so I won't be out on the Saturday ride for two
weeks.

Hi all

I didn't get my act together and have missed out on a place at the Circuit
of Kent next Sunday as entries have closed.

If anyone hears of a spare place, I'd be happy to snap it up.

Dye,

I haven't got a place either but I'm still riding it - saves thirty quid by not entering. Getting the train out there.

You can both act as my domestiques...and I won't tell on you.

Seriously, what train are you looking to catch out there Hassan?

Adam P is also signed up to do this.

Oh cool!  I’ll be there then.  I’m not sure if I’ll drive or take the train – what train were you guys thinking?

Train time is 7:48am from Herne Hill; arriving at Otford at 8:31am.
Then a mad dash to Ride HQ.

I'm doing this too - so I'll meet you all at Herne Hill.

I'm also aiming to be there on Friday morning for a "gentle" spin...

Ill be at herne hill for the 7.48 train too - the strangely named bat and ball station ( next stop after otford) looks a bit closer to the HQ

Engineering works between Brixton and Shortlands, so avoid the Catford loop line. See you at Penge Adam. Stick your head out of the window.

Glad you spotted that deliberate mistake Wilson. In that case, I'll join you at Beckenham Junction.

Monika, we don't mind. See you at Herne Hill.

Hassan, why don't you just join us at Herne Hill. It's closer than
Beckenham Junction. (And it's all downhill from where you live.)

I think we might have a bit of a blue train situation taking shape for
the Circuit of Kent.

Results now in. Mark Goldstien just missed out on a Gold for the
"proper' ride of 140km. I got a Gold for the 80km "Thai Lady Boy"
route (no idea how as I limped home for the last 10kms); and Pete must
have got a Gold for his storming ride, but I couldn't find his name/
time on the results table.

80km: http://www.kentcyclosportive.co.uk/80result.htm

140km: http://www.kentcyclosportive.co.uk/140result.htm

Found Pete. A storming 2hrs 27mins to deliver a well deserved Gold
(there should have been an additional Platinum category to cover that
time).

Very well done.

am there. looks like i was beaten into 2nd place on the 80k route by
55 seconds!

i meant to do the 140k route, but missed the turn off/split with a few
others who were working in a pace line. we all missed it, didn't
realise 'til too late and ended up doing the shorter route instead.
still, no queues for the food afterwards and the company of ken and
hassan on the train home made up for it.

well done

I just missed out on gold 4'22. The ten minute food and toilet stop
scuppered my time!

4'28, Silver for me, 13 minutes off Gold, despite this being my
fastest ever sportive.

The combination of a 5 minute food stop, 15 miles riding alone (after
being dropped by a 20 strong group who ALL jumped a red light on a
main red) and the massive hill at the end did for me...

A very enjoyable ride that made a nice change from the usual constant
ups and downs of most sportives.

I think I may have just scraped in for a ladies gold on the 140km - no
timing chip but I was about 10 mins behind Mark.
