to Dental Practice Management Class of 2011
Hi everyone!! I can't believe it's been over a year since we all met!
I'll be honest, I considered taking the course again this year, I know
I'd get a tonne out of it the second time around as well.
I had an idea for my office a couple of weeks ago, and I think it was
pretty great so I want to share it. I find it basically impossible to
have a morning meeting with all staff present. This is because we've
got staggered start times, and there are a few people (dentists
mostly) who refuse to show up before our first patients. I find it
really hard to communicate with everyone, I end up telling information
to some and missing others.
My idea was to create a daily form to write down what I need to tell
everyone. There's a spot for things specific to the hygiene schedule,
to the dentists' schedule, an extra check to make sure lab cases have
all been checked for the day, a spot of things going on at the front
desk etc. There's a place as well for people to sign off when they've
read it. It's also nice for my hygienists who aren't there everyday,
they can see what's been going on for the past day or two.
All in all, it's been working great so far. It takes just a few
minutes to do it the night before, and it saves me from repeating
myself 12 times a day.
If this sounds like something that might work in your office, then I
hope you use it! I'd be happy to attach the template if anyone is
interested.
I hope you're all doing well!!
