So i guess thats how it works for non gmail users.
(1) If you have a gmail account it is better because you can use the more pleasant online interface for google groups to read messages and post to the forum via the "new post" button
(2) If you joined the group via a hotmail (or other account), you are still a member of the forum and can click the original link "
http://groups.google.com/group/dpm2011/sub?s=8O5lxwwAAAB9LEVFwEEpZMvvW9OnU107&hl=en" to view the online forum interface, but you cant post to the forum via the "new post" button
(3) If you joined the group via a hotmail (or other account) you can post to the forum so it will be visible in the online interface (as well as a copy of what you wrote being sent to all members email inbox) by emailing whatever you want to post to "
dpm...@googlegroups.com"
(4) If you receive a thread from the the group in your inbox and hit reply, that reply will also be posted to the forum and to everyone's inbox.
(5) You can tell that whatever you emailed to "
dpm...@googlegroups.com" is posted to the forum because it will bounce back to you (ie-you are a member of the forum, so whatever you email to
dpm...@googlegroups.com is posted to the forum and also emailed to all members - which includes yourself)
Make sense?
