Hello valued DPC partners,

As 2021 comes to a close, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued participation and support of the Data the Point of Care pilot. The feedback you’ve provided over the last year regarding how you use both claims data and the API has helped us to shape the future of DPC as a tool that we hope will make it easy and safe to obtain the data that is most beneficial to patient care.

Unfortunately, we will not be releasing DPC v2 before the end of the year. While we've spent the last few months addressing the concerns that prevented our originally planned August release, there is still some work to be done, especially around the number one requested feature for DPC v2 - support for the new patient use case. It is our priority to make sure that we can provide new patient data safely and securely, taking every reasonable precaution to protect beneficiary privacy while getting the data into the hands of the clinicians who need it to enhance patient care.

To support the future of the new patient use case, we will be performing user research in the near term to understand how to maintain beneficiary privacy protections while supporting the need to request data for new patients. We may be reaching out to a number of our current sandbox and production pilot partners for interviews in early 2022 to help us meet our goal of sharing new patient data in DPC v2.
