Since our organization is participating in a CMS MSSP ACO where CMS has already attributed patients at the ACO level, is there a process where all of the patients (78,000+) can be assigned to the 2500+ providers attached to this MSSP ACO? Requiring individual provider to patient attribution separately for this project seems redundant when the relationship is already established per CMS' own attribution methodology.

Hello,

DPC does not currently attribute patients to providers based on CMS MSSP ACO relationships. However, have you explored our sister program, the Beneficiary Claims Data API (BCDA)?

The claims data delivered by DPC and BCDA are in the same bulk FHIR format, but BCDA is designed specifically to support and deliver claims for CMS MSSP ACOs and their assignable or prospectively assigned beneficiaries.

I suggest checking out their website for more information on how to get started: https://bcda.cms.gov/. If you have further questions about BCDA, you can post to their Google Group: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/bc-api.

Yes, I am aware of the BCDA and participate in that group; it automates the delivery of the CCLF (claims files) for further analytics and does not provide actionable information directly to the providers. It would be extremely beneficial to MSSPs and assist in successfully improving outcomes at a lower cost if the MSSP assignment methodology was implemented in the DPC program.
