Synthetic data - help us help you!

[Data at the Point of Care Community]

Hello DPC Community,

We're continuing our efforts to make it as straightforward as possible for DPC participants to develop solutions for integrating with the API using the sandbox data. We've received a number of comments about where this synthetic data needs to be improved, including: 

• It would be helpful to provide synthetic complex scenarios, including patients with historical IDs.
• The sample data is not robust enough in the sandbox, and several data elements that users would expect to see in production are not in the sandbox data.
• Synthetic data reflecting real-world “disease states” would be wonderful, especially those that are measured for CMS quality metrics.

Again, we want to make sure that DPC's sample data is robust enough for provider organization and their partners to be able to build and test their solutions in the sandbox before moving to the production environment. To that end, we're asking for your feedback:

• What specific complex scenarios, sample data and disease states would you like to see in the synthetic data? Help elaborate on the comments we received during office hours, so we can act on that feedback.
• What other information would you like to share with the DPC team about how you've worked with the synthetic data so far? Please share your thoughts, and we'll pass them along to the team that compiles the synthetic data.
