The main theme of the expansion pack is fame and being a celebrity while gaining a reputation from doing so. Sims can explore the brand new world of Del Sol Valley, meet up with the famous locals, and join the acting career to become rich and famous. Sims can also become famous for various other things, such as singing, writing, painting, or cooking.
Fame is one of the main features of Get Famous and it determines how popular Sims are in their careers. Fame is obtained through certain interactions that gain popularity from certain skills. Sims can also gain fame from working in their jobs, specifically as Actors. Celebrities can also earn and manage fame perks to gain advantages with more fame and reputation as well as certain boosts to careers, friends, and media production.
Reputation is another feature that plays a part in the public image of a Sim. Every Sim has a reputation, both good and bad, but if it stays neutral it won't have any bearing on gameplay. A celebrity's reputation garners a reaction from nearby Sims. If a celebrity has either a neutral, good, great, or pristine reputation, they will get cheers and happy reactions from other Sims. If they have a bad, awful, or atrocious reputation, celebrities will receive boos and other negative attention from nearby Sims.
The actor is an active career and the main way of gaining fame is to Get Famous. Actors must join one of two agencies to start getting auditions. A.I. Staffing Agency or Everyday Extras Talent Agency. Either agency will send notifications reminding their actors to find auditions and get gigs to start getting an income. Actors can succeed or fail in the audition. Auditions may be bypassed once the Sim reaches Level 3 in fame by obtaining the "Established Name" perk.
When actors have an acting gig, they must attend to the studio lot and perform their daily tasks, consisting of getting their costumes fitted, hair styled, practicing lines, talking with the director, etc. When the actor is ready, they can speak to the director and be directed to the main stage. In the main stage, the actor must carry out an array of actions, depending on their acting skill.

Starting out: This challenge lasts 7 generations, with one optional generation 0 (if you like playing out the backstory like me). If you want to skip gen 0, go right to Generation 1. Gen 0 centers around the strict farming family that the first famous sim (Heir 1) grows up in. The parents should be Adults. Heir 1 can be created as a Teen, Child, Toddler, or not born yet.
These parents are simple and humble farmers, and they had children hoping those kids would carry on this legacy. However, one of their children is distant, rebellious, and ultimately leaves home to pursue some silly dreams of Hollywood.
-You must marry a 4 or 5-star celebrity (you may design/place this person in the world due to the limited number of celebrity NPCs. You may play them for up to 1 Sim day in order to establish their life. You may use cheats to quickly establish their life, but you may not cheat their relationship with your sims or Heir 1, and you may not have them interact with Heir 1 until you are playing as Heir 1 again.)
-At least 5 times, cause some sort of extreme public scene/scandal. This could be anything from getting in a fight, having a messy divorce in public, living on a public lot for a long period of time for no reason, starting a fire, anything.
I pre-purchased Sims 4:Get Famous back in October I believe. May have been early November. Right now it's showing as owned by me, but it won't download. All of the other expansions and packs I own download and install just fine, but Get Famous won't. It tells me to check my internet connection or try again later. I've done both multiple times, over the course of several days. It still won't download.

I was having the same exact issue. I tried uninstalling Sims 4 completely from my computer and made sure all of the files for the game were deleted. I then uninstalled Origin completely and reinstalled it. I then re-downloaded all of the Sims 4 games and Get Famous wasn't on the download list. I selected it to add to queue but I was getting the same exact error message. I had pre-ordered the game pretty much announcement day. I then did as you suggested and looked at my order history only to find that it was still processing. Finally, I just canceled the order and bought it (for cheaper I might add) and now it finally will download. If anyone else is finding the same issue I suggest going through your order history and checking to see if the order went through.
I just cancelled a pre order I had made for the sims 4 get famous because it would never download and when I went to the site where I see my orders it said it was processing still, I would like to know if I will be getting a refund for the $40 I dropped on an expansion that doesn't/ didn't work?
Silly question as I don't really play sims much. I have the sims 4 and just bought the get famous expansion pack. I believe that when u select the actress career it is an "active" job so you can follow them to work. However I'm not being given the option to do that. None of my sims are passing their auditions (sad times) so can I only follow them when they actually have a gig? Or should I still be able to follow them to their audition?

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go to work (with sim) as an actor/actress.
What happens when the bug occurs? I go to the work as an actress but there's no employee at the All-in-One Styling Station.
What do you expect to see? Sim should be able to change the makeup or hair but she can't without an employee.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? No, never.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
I have had the makeup artist leave after getting to the studio. The makeup artist spawned with all the other sims at the usual spawn point, went to the makeup chair and then ran to the studio gate and left (disappeared). I was stuck for a while since I couldn't complete the task. But, at least, she did eventually come back but spawned outside the gate and had to make her way back to the chair. It took long enough that I ran out of time and wasn't able to complete all the gig tasks so I didn't get gold that time. It's happened twice with the makeup artist but the 2nd time she just ran to the gate and then came right back and I was able to complete all the gig tasks with a little time left over. It's also happened the once with the wardrobe guy but he just ran to the gate and got back to his place in time so it wasn't a problem. He didn't disappear.
I've played the acting career on previous saves and it's been perfectly fine but more recently the hair and make-up stylist is missing from set so my sim is unable to complete mandatory tasks in order to continue. Playing on xbox so I have no mods or cc installed.
