The ancient Ethiopian Bible is the oldest. King James the first English Bible was published thousands of years later. The Ethiopian Bible speaks of the same God of Abraham, Elijah, Moses, Joseph, David, and Sarah.

Why do the powers that be think they have the right to with hold the true word of God from the masses who want cement an intimate relationship with God? My relationship with God, they are normal men, God could not agree with what these people are doing and then expect to be save when they die.
Please send me a copy of the Ethiopian bible.

When Isreal was lead into bondage, all gold, silver, livestock, clothes, riches, homes, including old scriptures of the Word Of Father was not left behind? Did those who arrived where once the children of Isreal, find what not belong to them? And placed upon themselves what had belong to the Isreal? Learned who Father was from scriptures to anounce themselves Isreal? Then who has the Scriptures, if they had not been left behind after Isreal went into bondage? Were the Scriptures left behind in Isreal?

Incredible. Can anyone in this vast world tell us where can we obtain a copy of the Ethiopian Bible. Pdf .People perish for lack of knowledge? Why has this essential knowledge been hidden from us. Please email with instructions as to the steps which I need to take to obtain an Ethiopian Bible. Enjoy your day.

So true
Apocryphal books do not follow the thread of Truth and the overall theme of the bible, therefore just because some writings have some obscure comments about Jesus etc, does not make the book a part of the cannon of the bible.

The Bible does not describe the tribes held in Egypt as the children of Israel. Those who finally crossed the Red Seas did not have possession of Biblical scriptures which they left behind. The Old Testament had not been completed then. Jerusalem existed but when was the State of Israel held in bondage? .

For those interested to have a bible with all the books, please visit this site fcuploads.truthofgod.com. They are currently out of orders and are making more available. They translated from the Ethiopian bible which is hard to get.

If you are truly searching for the truth, all bibles have some truth, and of course older text are better if from original text. KJV is worthless, it was written to bring catholic s back into the church, not laymen. To read KJV you need next to it the Bullinger Companion Bible for all the errors, and a Interlinear Bible for looking up original words in Greek & Hebrew. I would recommend joining CCG.org and allow God to open your mind. Stay clear of the false trinity teaching and follow Hebrew teaching of Jesus.

Like the rest of the group, I would love to have a copy of the Ethiopian Bible. I have several different bibles and am constantly cross referencing to be certain I truly understand what God wants us to know. Much thank-you in advance! nansy.m...@gmail.com

Hi Everyone,
Did anyone get the link for the Ethiopian Bible? .pdf or hard copy, I would really like to purchase as I like to compare Bibles as the search for His truth never ends. I have a Messianic Bible that is helpful with Hebrew language. Please !! Thank-you, Nansy.M...@gmail.com . Please and thank-you!!

Yes it is Ge'ez the old Ethiopian language which includes Eritreans as well. It is the prayer to Mary the mother of our Jesus Christ in the way of the Orthodox religion. The orthodox bible has 80 books. It is out of the extra books they have these kind of prayers.

Hi Olvia, that is really neat you have that, where did you get it? I have a non-profit Museum & Library website ( ) and am working on an Ethiopian exhibit. In my research, I was thrilled to run across your post. I don't mean to be forward, but might you be interested in possibly donating or selling your manuscript? You can click on my account name and get my email and phone number if so. Regardless thanks for sare ing that, very interesting.

"... [why does] the Eastern Orthodox Church has several books intheir bible that fail to appear in our own [Catholic]? I was simplycurious to why our Church rejects these books. ... Thank you so muchfor your wonderful site and your time for reading this! -A fellowCatholic Christian"

It is true that there are some additional books (such as 3 & 4Maccabees) which are commonly (but not necessarily formally)found in modern, published Eastern Orthodox Old Testaments. Wemake this distinction between "commonly" and "formally" because thesimple reality is that the modern Eastern Orthodox Church does notpossess a formal, universally-approved Biblical canon. Rather, there issome confusion among Eastern Orthodox as to which books properlyconstitute the canon of the Bible. And, to understand this, you have tounderstand what "canon" originally referred to and how the canon of theChristian Bible (that is, the Biblical canon of the Catholic Church)actually came into being in the first place.

The term "canon" means is that a book is approved for reading at theDivine Liturgy -- that is, the Mass. This is what "canon" (a Greek wordmeaning "rule") originally referred to. The "canonical" books werethose books which were approved for reading at the Liturgy.

Books which were not approved for reading at the Liturgy were called"apocryphal" (or "hidden"), and so excluded from the Liturgy. Among the"apocryphal" books, some were considered to be very orthodox and eveninspired (but still not approved for public reading at theLiturgy), and others were considered to be uninspired or to containerrors (or even to be outright heretical). Only the "canonical" bookswere approved for reading at the Liturgy (the Mass).Liturgy in the Fourth CenturyBefore the late 4th Century, each city-church had its own, local"canon" of the Bible, and these local canons differed from city-churchto city-church ---some local canons including books which arecurrently excluded from our present Bible (such as 1 Clementto the Corinthians, or the Epistle of Barnabas, or the Book of Enoch, etc.), and some local canons excluding books which are currentlyincluded in our present Bible (such as the Epistle of James, andHebrews, and 2 Peter, and 2 & 3 John, Jude, and Revelation). Thereason that city-churches had different local canons is becausecity-churches had different local Liturgies -- that is, theLiturgy (form of worship) in the city-church of Rome was different fromthe Liturgy (form of worship) in the city-Church of Corinth, or thecity-church of Ephesus, or Antioch, or Jerusalem, etc. This includedthe yearly Liturgical calendar, with different city-churchescelebrating different local feast days on any given date.Since the feast days differed, so did the corresponding readings forthose feast days; and since there were only so many Liturgicalreadings (from so many canonical books) that a city-church could havein a given year, this limited the number of books in the localcanon of that city-church.As the Church entered the 4th Century, there was no such thingas one, universal "Bible"
(one universal Scripturalcanon, which the entire, universal Church shared in common).Arian HeresyWhen the Arian heresy ripped the Church apart (pitting bishop againstbishop, and city-church against city-church), this created an enormousproblem, since you had different bishops (Arian vs. Catholic) quotingfrom different books (or sets of books) in defense of either Arianismor Catholic Trinitarianism. Needless to say, this complicated andprolonged the controversy, and made Arianism much harder to defeat.Well, by the year 382, when the Arian heresy was finallydefeated, Pope St. Damasus of Rome (who had been the librarian for thechurch of Rome prior to becoming Pope) took it upon himself to correctthis problem, and to guarantee that it would not happen again, byinitiating steps for the formation of a universalcanon of Scripture which all city-churches would hold in common, whichwould eliminate any book which even implied Arianism (or othercondemned heresies).Forth Century North Africa Councils To "start the ball rolling" on this, Pope Damasus promoted a Biblicalcanon which was a synthesis of the canon of the city-church of Rome andthat of the city-church of Alexandria --the two leading city-churchesof the universal Church. Damasus then turned this proposed canon overto the bishops of North Africa for analysis and debate. And he did thisfor four reasons:

  1. North Africa was not part of the theology schools of eitherAlexandria or Antioch, which were the two intellectual factions thathad caused the Arian controversy.
  2. North Africa had the most bishops per capita of anywhere in theuniversal Church at the time, so they would reflect a good sample ofuniversal opinion among the bishops.
  3. The North African Church had a traditional custom of meeting incouncil (either at Carthage or at Hippo) every two years, which wouldgive them the ability to hash things out effectively; and
  4. Many of the North African bishops were renowned scholars, such asSt. Augustine of Hippo, who participated in the debate and helped toformulate the canon.
So, at both the councils of Hippo (393) and at Carthage (397), theNorth African bishops worked out the final canon of the both the Oldand New Testaments for the universal Church. This is the present canonof the Catholic Church, which the North Africans then submitted to Romefor final ratification. Now, we're not sure when this finalratification was given, but we do know that, by A.D. 405, Pope St.Innocent I was promoting the so-called "canon of Carthage" (397)throughout the Western Church. Rome would also have sent rescripts ofits decison (final ratification of the Carthaginian canon) toAlexandria, the 2nd See of the universal Church and the primate in theEast, with the expectation that Alexandria (as Eastern primate) woulddisseminate it throughout the East. However, while Alexandria apparently (as it always did) followed thelead of Rome and accepted the Carthaginian canon, there was a majorproblem in the other Eastern patriarchate of Antioch (which representedthe other half of the Eastern Church at the time), given thatAntioch, at the time, was torn by internal schism, with two (andsometimes three) Catholic bishops all claiming to be the rightfulPatriarch of Antioch! So, because of this, the canon of Carthage wasnever initially implemented or effectively accepted throughout thePatriarchate of Antioch; and since Constantinople (the Eastern imperialcapital) was the Liturgical dependant of Antioch (theByzantine Rite being a modified form of the Antiochian Rite),Constantinople never initally implemented the canon of Carthage either. And, because of this, well into the 8th Century, you have Byzantine andAntiochian fathers, such as St. John Damascene, recognizing books like1 Clement to the Corinthians or the Book of Enoch as canonicalworks!
