Note: If your eclipse glasses or viewers are compliant with the ISO 12312-2 safety standard, you may look at the uneclipsed or partially eclipsed Sun through them for as long as you wish. Furthermore, if the filters aren't scratched, punctured, or torn, you may reuse them indefinitely. Some glasses/viewers are printed with warnings stating that you shouldn't look through them for more than 3 minutes at a time and that you should discard them if they are more than 3 years old. Such warnings are outdated and do not apply to eclipse viewers compliant with the ISO 12312-2 standard adopted in 2015. An eclipse is a rare and striking phenomenon you won't want to miss, but you must carefully follow safety procedures. Don't let the requisite warnings scare you away from witnessing this singular spectacle! You can experience the eclipse safely, but it is vital that you protect your eyes at all times with the proper solar filters. No matter what recommended technique you use, do not stare continuously at the sun. Take breaks and give your eyes a rest! Do not use sunglasses: they don't offer your eyes sufficient protection. The only acceptable glasses are safe viewers designed for looking at the sun and solar eclipses. Pinhole and Related Projection Methods - Pinhole projectors and other projection techniques are a safe, indirect viewing technique for observing an image of the sun. These provide a popular way for viewing solar eclipses. One viewing technique is to project an image of the sun onto a white surface with a projecting telescope. This is explained further here:

As noted in How to View a Solar Eclipse Safely, a convenient method for safe viewing of the partially eclipsed Sun is pinhole projection. With the Sun behind you, pass sunlight through a small opening (for example, a hole punched in an index card) and project a solar image onto a nearby surface (for example, another card, a wall, or the ground). A pasta colander makes a terrific pinhole projector, as does a straw hat or anything else with a bunch of small holes in it. Do NOT look at the Sun through the pinhole(s)!
If your observing site has leafy trees, look at the shadows of leaves on the ground. During a partial solar eclipse, the tiny spaces between the leaves will act as pinhole projectors, dappling the ground with images of the crescent Sun (or images of the ring-shaped Sun during the annular phase of an annular eclipse)!
Note that pinhole projection does NOT mean looking at the Sun through a pinhole! With the Sun at your back, you project sunlight through the hole(s) onto a surface and look at the solar image(s) on the surface. Note too that pinhole projection is not useful for observing the total phase of a total solar eclipse; the projected image would be too faint to see. During totality, when it suddenly gets very dark, it is perfectly safe to look directly at the eclipsed Sun.
You can also use a telescope or binoculars to project images of the partially eclipsed Sun onto a surface for convenient viewing. This is called optical projection, because it involves optics (that is, lenses and/or mirrors). Compared with pinhole projection, optical projection generally provides bigger, brighter, sharper images. But because passing bright sunlight through binoculars or a telescope can damage the device, and because of the danger that someone might look at the Sun through the device and injure their eyes, you should not attempt optical projection unless you are an experienced astronomical observer, are using your own equipment, and can remain with your equipment at all times to supervise its use. The document, available as a PDF on our Downloads page, is intended for knowledgeable amateur and professional astronomers who know how to operate a telescope for solar observing.
Originally developed at Learning Technologies, the company that invented the Starlab inflatable planetarium, the Sunspotter is billed as "the safer solar telescope." Like the Sun Funnel, the Sunspotter uses optical projection to produce a magnified image of the Sun that can be viewed by many people at once without risk of anyone looking into a bright beam of sunlight. It's price, around $500, may be more than many individuals would care to spend, but the Sunspotter wasn't really designed for individuals; it was designed for astronomy clubs, schools, museums, and planetariums.
A less expensive device of similar design is available in kit form: the Solar Projector made by AstroMedia in Germany. It costs only $30 or so, but it requires assembly by someone who's handy with tape, glue, and sharp knives and prepared to follow the 34-step instructions (available as a 6-page PDF).
Per video analytics allows you to view information about how users interact with your videos. For example, you can view the number of people who have viewed the video, and the number of views on the video over different periods of time.
If you're a video owner or member of the site where the video is stored or have edit access on the video, you can view the analytics for your video by selecting Analytics plugin on the Stream Web App (SWA). You can also hover over the graph on top of the video to see which parts of the video have been viewed the most.
Views show the total number of video views over the lifetime of the video. Under Statistics over time, you can review unique views trends on your video for the last 7 days and 30 days.
Viewers show the total number of individual viewers of the video over the lifetime of the video. Under Statistics over time, you can review unique viewer trends on your video over a period.
All-time views and Statistics over time use two separate data structures. Views and Viewers count calculations utilize a standard probabilistic algorithm. The underlying algorithm has less than 2% error rate, this might result in count mismatch at times. In future, these corner cases will be addressed.
We count a new view only when there's an intentional 'play' action on video by the user. Currently we consider any playback >0 seconds as a view. This eliminates instances when video is just loaded or unfurled anywhere on different Microsoft 365 apps, hence providing an accurate measure of the metric.
We include rewatches in our data to give an accurate picture of the most engaging sections. Viewers may be rewatching more of a part of a video than another. We include rewatching that happens during the same viewing session or when a viewer returns to a specific timestamp rather than playing the video from the beginning.
When you edit a video and save it with the same name, extension and at the same location, all other metrics get reset except for View and Viewer count. This results in discrepancy as the data might get mismatched from your expectation.
Microsoft suggests that after you edit a file, you must upload it as a new file to get accurate analytics. Analytics data that was tied to the original version won't transfer to the new, edited version. The edited version will start gathering analytics data upon upload.

The Marine Mammal Protection Act and the Endangered Species Act do not provide for permits or other authorizations to view or interact with wild marine mammals and sea turtles, except for specific listed purposes such as scientific research. We maintain as policy that interacting with wild marine life outside of permitted research should not be attempted and viewing marine mammals and sea turtles must be conducted in a manner that does not harass the animals. We do not support, condone, approve, or authorize activities that involve closely approaching, interacting, or attempting to interact with whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals, sea lions, and sea turtles in the wild. This includes attempting to swim with, pet, touch, or elicit a reaction from the animals.
