Please help. Just bought 14 mBots. 1 per student for coding in this new Covid-19 environment. Each student has a chromebook at their disposal. Was hoping it was a perfect solution. Here is my problem:

Finished the build today and connected the mbot to Chromebook via usb. Installed the mlink extension and was able to connect to the mbot through the ide.mblock.com 1 interface. I made a short program:
When mbot(mcore) starts up
move forward at power 50% for 1 sec

I have a Canon Powershot SD 790 IS. When I plug the camera in, nothing shows up in "Files" like I have read in other forums. I have turned the camera on and off while plugged in and have also tried turning it on before plugging it in, but nothing pops up.

I have just bought a CHROMEBOOK 13. I have a Nikon D5100 camera and I am trying to get the photo`s on to the chromebook ? The sb card from my camera is too big to go into the card port ....any suggestions?

Don't worry - it's quick and painless! Just click below, and once you're logged in we'll bring you right back here and post your question. We'll remember what you've already typed in so you won't have to do it again.

You can create an Idea in the Community so that other Chromebook users can see it and vote on it. If an idea gets enough +Votes it is more likely to get implemented. Click here if you'd like to know more about this.

Soooo, chromebook????? Obviously I can manage already uploaded files but the question is HOW to upload local files using the app ON chromebook, NOT desktop and NOT already uploaded files. Why is this such a difficult question? I'm guessing it's not possible.

I have a Canon Powershot A480 and want to download software to my Chromebook so I can upload pics. I used to have a PC but now I don't know what software to download. It is the Chrome OS but that's all I know. Can you help?

Students using Chromebooks cannot install Kaltura Capture on their machines to submit videos for assignments. They can, however, use the Chrome extension Screencastify to capture their video and then upload that video.

I just tried on a google pixel book and Slicer runs if unpacked onto the linux file system but no graphics are displayed (there are error messages related to the version of OpenGL shader language not being supported).

@Logan_Quinn, if your goal is just to look at MRI dicom files, you might be better off with slicedrop.com or viewer.ohif.org/local, both of which support loading images from your local file system and run entirely in the browser (not as many features as Slicer, but good for quick image viewing).

Maybe the easiest is to borrow a windows machine from someone? Or rent one from microsoft if you can find a way to access it via your chromebook. You can also rent linux virtual machines from Amazon or Google and access Slicer via a browser if you want to try that route.

Hi, just today I received a new Chromebook (Dell 5190) and I have run one of my Cura AppImages on it. As @Patrice says, you need to install fuse (do 'sudo apt-get install fuse') and make the Cura AppImage executable. It was a bit slow and the layer view was in compatibility mode but it definitely worked. I also installed an openscad AppImage and that works well so it would be possible to create models and slice all on the chromebook with no network connection.

Patrice - I was able to install the cura appimage on my chromebook, and it ran after being installed, but it did not create a shortcut to run again, how did you create a shortcut, or how do you run it?

Cura on Chromebook update - with recent chrome releases, it is now possible for the Linux apps to use accelerated OpenGL and so now you get the full layer view functionality rather than being forced to use compatibility mode. It's really getting quite usable now.

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately I gave it a go with sudo -s and while it did switch me to root with the # at the end, when I tried chmod again I got the same error. If root doesn't have permission, which user would? I'm not sure where to go from here.

Besides running it as a Terminal window or installing Linux and all that they both entail and are mentioned above, Chrome Remote Desktop can work. Pretty easy to set up and works for a lot of other things as well. I use it to play MTG: Arena.

Can someone tell me start to finish, how to download cura for an acer chromebook with links? I'd be so happy. I'm smart but i got no idea what this all means. I have an ender 3 3d printer from Creality. I've finally got the bed leveled but I dont have a windows computer to run cura on.

December 23, 2019 by John R. Sowash Get Crafty! Connect your Cricut to your Chromebook!Android Apps make the impossible possible (like connecting a Cricut cutting machine to a Chromebook)A few weeks ago I wanted to work on a project that required a vinyl cutter (check my Instagram account for some examples!).

Your best option is probably to talk with your IT department about letting you sign in to specific school-owned Chromebooks using a Gmail account so that you can connect your Cricut. This will be easier than asking them to set up Google Play for your entire school.

Anyone have a solution to this? My district is piloting chromebooks for the teachers and Design Space has been placed on my approved Google Play Store apps. I downloaded the app but it keeps asking me to sign in to my google account. Ideas?

Google play is enabled in our district but there is some policy that is causing an error when using a gsuite account. It says you must login, but will not allow you to login to your cricut account. I have tried many policy changes and still have not figured it out.

If you want to zoom to a specific spot, put your cursor over that part and put two fingers on the square touch pad below the keyboard. Then, zoom in. If you want to zoom out, put your cursor in a corner and zoom out.

Design Space is the program you use to design your project but states that it is not compatible to Chromebook. I have a Acer and have read of the different methods to go around and use design space but I want to know if there is a update to this as most of the comments are more than 30 days old. I havent opened the box yet and is there another circut machine that does support acer chromebook?

I have an Asus chromebook I have down loaded design space I can do everything but cut. I have a cricut explore 1 and it is not blue tooth compatible so I have the usb cord to link them but it does not work.

i have a chromebook lenovo laptop, i use cricut all the time but i cant curve the writing on the app, does anyone know where the curve tool is as i cant curve the writing and i need too. it annoyingly doesnt give me option, if someone could help that would be amazing

I have a chrome notebook and also a cricut air 2. When I go to Bluetooth it say connected, if I look at device it tells me connected then changes to not connected. I followed all your steps. I am at a loss do you have any advice. Thank you

Has anyone been able to figure out why the App prompts for a Google Account when opened on a GSuite managed Chromebook? The only option is to press OK and the App closes. The App works perfectly on the Chromebook if I wipe the system and deprovision it. Is there some User/Device Setting in GSuite that needs to be enabled/disabled to let the App load properly?

My chromebook loses bluetooth connection constantly and ruins projects (for some reason you cant use it with the cord). Also, you have to use the cricut app that was clearly designed for a phone and is missing a lot of functionality. Would highly recommend not using a cricut machine with a chromebook.

Hello, Thanks to this page i decided to keep my cricut and continue using it with my chormebook but after it sat for a few months it now wants a firmware update and I am at a loss. Before i lug this whole set up and beg someone to help me update it on their desktop. Any tips for getting the firmware to update? Of course I contacted Cricut and got the it can work on chromebooks limitedly but we do not support them and you can not update the firmware using one. So frustrating they cant play nice with more devices heck they may sell more.

Hello, I have a CB and just purchased the new cricut maker 3, i tried to connect it via bluetooth and followed all instructions and the cricut does not come up on my bluetooth devices for me to connect. I also tried it with the USB cord and nothing, is it the CB or the fact that is the new cricut maker and is not connecting to my CB. I need help am getting frustrated and I have tried numerous times and I have also uninstalled and re-installed the app and I turned the laptop and cricut off and on to see if that works and nothing, can someone please help.

Here are a few things to try:
* I have had issues connecting if my Chromebook is very close to the Cricut. Try moving it a few feet away.
* Try connecting another Bluetooth device to your Chromebook (like a wireless mouse or headphones) to confirm that Bluetooth is working correctly on your Chromebook.
* Try connecting to the Cricut directly from the Chromebook system menu (same place you connect to Wifi), not through the Design Space app.

I have an Acer Chromebook. After downloading the android ap.. the chromebook still gave me trouble in the design site..so I finally resorted to using my android phone to work on the design, copied and reduced my hand cut paper snowflake design, then printed it out and reduced, scanned to a USP uploaded to photos, and am using a stylus made from a q tip and aluminum foil to get rid of background on my tiny phone.. It is working great. Cutting my firsts in vinyl for mounting on plastic disks as ornaments. Thanks for your tips and help.

I am having the same issue with the Cricut Design Space application not allowing me to sign in on my Chromebook. I have uninstalled and completed any and all updates for the device with a complete restart. The application still will not let me sign in. However, I can sign in just fine on my iPhone.
