This is typical behavior of a broken/worn down unifying receiver. The only way to fix this is to purchase another. However, you'll have to setup your old devices to the new receiver using Logitech's software.

This may have to be done with each new computer you use the mouse/new unifying receiver with. Although after a fresh install of Windows 8, my receiver picked up the mouse just fine without any of the Logitech software.

This seems to have affected not just logitech unifying receivers, but all USB Composite Devices. My Android tablet is also affected, as well as my Microsoft Xbox 360 USB Controller receiver, since it has two 360 pads sync'd to it, but my wired PowerA Minix360 is not affected. My microsoft wired keyboard 600 and logitech V220 are also not affected, as they are not 'USB Composite Device', but 'USB Human Interface Device'.

Logitech Unifying Software is a utility software that lets users add or remove compatible Logitech mice, keyboards, and other devices to their unifying receiver. With the use of this program, you can pair your old receiver to new computer peripherals. The app is free to download and use and allows connections with up to six devices. However, there has been no update to the software for quite some time now, and the instructions for pairing are quite confusing.

I too am facing this, Although for me the mouse works but keyboard does not even pair to the Macbook pro anymore. Both are unifying reciever based devices. would appreciate if someone / logitech fixes this.

Same. I have a logitech k350 keyboard. the unifying application shows it connected, but only in the "advanced" settings. the volume control button works, but none of the other keys. i have set up all the security/privacy settings correctly in the system prefs and restarted multiple times but nothing is working.

I first plugged the receiver into my PC, checked the K340 worked and then shut down the PC and put the receiver into my PS3 and it worked. When I got my mouse I set it up with the unifying software shut down the PC and put the receiver into the PS3 again and both keyboard and mouse work.
