EPLAN Electric P8 Version 2.4 (64 bit)
EPLAN Electric P8 is a consistent, integrated and fast engineering system for you to plan and design the electrical engineering for machines and plant systems. The software supports a wide variety of engineering methods: from manual creation through to standardised and template-based approaches. The latest release 2.4 of the EPLAN Platform is now available for download and, for the first time, also as a 64-bit version.
Benefits of the 64-bit version
The 64-bit version of EPLAN Electric P8 offers several advantages over the 32-bit version, such as:
- Improved performance and stability, especially for large projects and data volumes.
- Access to more memory resources, which allows for faster processing of complex tasks.
- Compatibility with Microsoft Office (64 bit) and SQL Server, which enables seamless integration of the parts and foreign language database and project management.
Installation requirements and options
To install the 64-bit version of EPLAN Electric P8, you need to meet the following requirements:
- EPLAN Electric P8 Version 2.3 (32 bit) is already installed on your workstation.
- Microsoft Office 2010 or Microsoft Office 2013 (32 bit) is installed on your workstation.
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4 has to be installed on your workstation.
- You require local administrator rights to install an EPLAN program variant.
- The EPLAN platform has been approved for the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 (64 bit) Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate; Microsoft Windows 8 (64 bit) Pro, Enterprise; Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64 bit) Pro, Enterprise.
The following installation options are available for the 64-bit version of EPLAN Electric P8:
- Convert the EPLAN parts and foreign language database and project management to SQL Server.
- Install Office (64 bit).
The first option is recommended if you want to use the same database for both the 32-bit and the 64-bit version of EPLAN Electric P8. The second option is recommended if you want to use Office (64 bit) for other applications as well.
