CELEBRATE THE HARVEST Saturday, October 8, marks the last day of the 2011 season for the Downtown
Windsor Farmers’ Market. To celebrate another successful year, we invite
you to join us for a day of family-friendly fun.
We will have free family portraits all day, a free gift to the first 50
visitors, and free cake at 10 a.m. The live music starts at 9 a.m. and CJAM
will also visit.
This season saw about 25 vendors selling goods during the peak of the season
and the final day will close with approximately 20 vendors. Pumpkins,
squash, apples, raspberries, beets, cauliflower, corn, baked goods, beef, fish,
honey and more are still available. Other fall favorites such as sweet
potatoes and pumpkin pie are also for sale.
Vendor coordinator & chair, Natalie Bownes offers a bit of hope for
those who will miss the market, “Just because the market is closing down for
the season, doesn't mean you have to stop supporting local farmers. Many
still sell directly from their farms and there are a lot of delivery services
that have started up.”
