How about? Gather at Barker Park which has defined address, Saturday parking room and part fenced is safer for little kids families, then disperse more for downtown cleanup later. We could discuss PGs plans, Distribute Earth Day supplies, Chalk Art on that park, Rove and clean up State St. to clean perimeter of TBGC, Rove to Old 6th Ave. to join the neighbors in their cleanup there in the fenced in park part? Grand St. MHA had a clean up and flower planting last years Earth day too. Also wave at Grand St. where my husband and neighbors will be wildflower seeding.
We need volunteer to take responsibility for attending the April 2nd Earth Day organizers sign up meeting and same or other person for supply pick up on Friday before Earth
Day.
Erika question about grass and play surfaces is good to think about. I like grass and it should be mowed, but not good for impact surfaces. The trouble with wood chips is they disperse and then you have even harder-pan surface soon. Carousels become muddy moat trenches in spring.
