Maintaining Bike & Scooter Connection on Bannock St during Special Events

Hello,

The 14th St Protected Bikelane is an important connection from Downtown, especially since we can't legally ride on 16th Street with personal bikes during the week & can't ride the new Veo Bikes or Scooters at all.

The 14th St Protected Bikelane connects us to Bannock St at Colfax, where it is often closed for special events.

This means we force riders to detour off 16th & then funnel them right into another detour.

Asking for Councilmember Hinds & the Downtown Denver Partnership to lead a discussion with those closing Bannock St to come up with solutions to keep it open during special events.

For Civic Center Eats, the Food Trucks could all park along the East curb. We can then close the East sidewalk to bikes temporarily routing them adjacent to the Bike lane along the West curb. On the weekends, we can just use the West sidewalk, since the building is closed anyway.
