Hello Councilman Watson,

I'm trying to learn why bicycles can not be ridden on 16th Street Monday through Friday & Scooters can't be ridden at all.

If you're not aware, 16th Ave is a designated bike route from Broadway all the way to Denver East High School at City Park Esplanade. 16th Street is also a designated bike route from the Millenium Bridge at Chestnut Pl to Wynkoop where bike & scooter riders are detoured off of 16th Street.

I see no reason why we shouldn't be directing bike & scooter riders to use the bus lanes only along 16th Street, while strictly enforcing them illegally being ridden on the sidewalks.

Can someone please explain why this decision was made & what it will take to get it changed?

Thank you,
