Hi all,

The Central Park Garden Design and Implementation Task Force is approaching it final recommendations and really needs to hear from folks interested in more community garden space within Central Park if we want to see the allocated space expand (current plan attached). Although the acquisition of the Research Products land increased the acreage available to Central Park, there hasn't been an expansion of the relatively small amount of land (1/4 acre, but only about 1/8 acre of usable land) for community gardens planned for the Park.

Please pass this to others interested in expanding community garden space within Central Park who might wish to comment either in the morning or evening on March 30th.  There are very long wait lines for the existing limited community garden plots in the isthmus and community gardens have never been more important.  If you know of folks who would be interested in commenting on edible landscaping in the park that would be important to mention as well.

Here's the info for the Central Park public meeting, but you can also come to the task force meeting in the morning and speak during public comment (first part of the meeting) if you can't make the evening meeting.

Public Meeting Wed., March 30, 2011
6:00 p.m., Research Products, 130 S Ingersoll St, corner of Ingersoll and E. Main

Central Park Task Force Committee Meeting Wed. March 30, 2011

215 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Room 260

If you can’t make either meeting, please share your comments with the Task Force in advance (roster here: http://www.cityofmadison.com/mayor/myCommit/roster/500455.cfm).

Please come out and show your support!

Thank you,

Nicole
