Hi community gardeners and garden leaders!

We hope that your growing season is off to a great start and your gardens are enjoying this weather as much as we are. We have some great gardens events coming up in July! A garden leaders (and gardeners) gathering will be held at the beautiful Bridge-Lake Point-Waunona community garden on Monday, July 12, 6:30-8:30pm, on the topics of helping new community gardeners succeed and plant disease identification and organic treatment methods. This gathering will have something for new and experienced gardeners alike, so please attend and get to know community gardeners from all over the area.

More information is available in the attached two-page pdf flyer. Please post flyers at your garden and share them with your community gardeners. A Spanish language flyer will hopefully be available soon. Please let me know if you’d like a copy of the flyer in Spanish. We’re asking for rsvps to the event by Friday, July 9. You can call or email me (Nicole Craig, 246-4730 x208, nic...@cacscw.org) to rsvp. We hope you can join us!

Our always fun, family-friendly community gardens bike tour with Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz will be this month as well! Join us Saturday, July 24, 9am-1pm to tour beautiful community, school, and food pantry gardens in Madison and Monona. We’ll be sending out more information and a flyer shortly.

Lastly, if you’re not a member of one of our listservs, please consider joining! We have two listservs - one for community gardeners and another for garden leaders, which serve as a forum for discussion and posting of news and events. Our monthly community gardens e-newsletter is shared via these listservs. To join either (or both), visit:

Madison Area Community Garden Leaders listserv (for current or aspiring garden leaders): http://groups.google.com/group/madison-community-garden-leaders?hl=en

Madison Area Community Gardeners listserv (for community gardeners): http://groups.google.com/group/madison-area-community-gardeners?hl=en

Happy gardening!

Nicole and the CAC Gardens staff (Chris, Jason, Joe, and Patty)
