Upon trying to update my drivers via Windows' Device Manager max resolution became 1600 x 1200 while monitor has 1920 x 1080. Since something clearly failed, I decided to download official drivers for my system from -radeon-hd/ati-radeon-hd-5000-series/ati-radeon-hd-5450 . I tried forcing a Full HD via CCC, but all I got was a stretched image with terrible refresh rate.
** Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 must be fully updated before attempting to install any AMD driver. All 'critical', 'recommended', and 'optional' (no language packs, etc) updates as well as any Service Packs (SP) must be installed before any attempt to install graphics drivers. If you do not get this message .... keep installing until you do:
Hoping that someone can assist me with this ?? I recently purchased the above gaphics card for use with the above PC, hve downloaded the required drivers but continually get Red, Blue, Green & Wite screen that continually cycles through the colours ? I have looked for solutions and attempted everything i can find including continually pressing F8 to boot the unit into safe mode but no success !! any advice, suggestions etc. will be appreciated !!
Versions 15.7.1 WHQL & 16.2.1 Beta, I also loaded a blank hard drive into the PC with a Windows 10 installation disk as if i were going to load a fresh version of windows and i receive the same result, solid colours ? no sign of Windows loading etc. If i remove the graphics card everything runs fine on the Intel built in graphics device ??
Correct the card produces solid colours and nothing else !! Had the chip well covered in thermal paste so no problems there, also tried the card in an HP laptop with W7 and got the same results, believe you are correct in stating that the card is bad so i will not waste any more time trying to get the thing to work !!
I am using Ubuntu 16.04. I bought a AMD Radeon HD 5450 graphics card, and I need the drivers. The box came with a disk for the drivers, but it is only compatible with Windows. Where can I get the driver for a Radeon HD 5450 graphics card in Ubuntu 16.04?
Depending on your exact graphics hardware, Ubuntu 16.04 will use either the open-source AMDGPU driver or the open-source Radeon driver, both of which are included in the default Ubuntu installation. The amdgpu driver, pre-installed in 16.04, is used for AMD's newest graphics cards. The radeon driver, also pre-installed in 16.04, is used for older AMD graphics cards that the amdgpu driver doesn't support (your graphics card was launched in 2010).
