Onboth singleplayer and official servers I am forced to play on the lowest graphic settings despite the series x having hardware well above the recommended system requirements. I can't even read my own compass it's so low poly. However when I first got the game on my Xbox one, the graphics were perfectly fine, better than what we have to deal with on modern consoles. So I have no idea why this is happening, I'd love to be able to play this game but the playdough makes it unbearable.
I confirm the words of NAL0. I play on PC in low memory mode. After the update, all models and textures of animals, characters and objects were broken. They look angular and plasticine.
It's crazy this still hasn't been addressed. I've looked everywhere and these comments are all I can find on the subject. Wtf? This needs fixed. Unless I am missing something. Everything on my game looks like bad origami.
its boggles the mind, that grapeshot (nothing against them) but that they havent fixed the visual graphics for those that are using xbox series s and x consoles. and from what ive read. even those on pc's are facing the same issue.
come on grapeshot sort this graphical issue out for all. thats pc and xbox series s/x owners. this game used to be beautiful and stunning and breathtaking but now it looks like playdough. heck grapeshot if you do not believe those of us that are saying this. just get on the game on a xbox series s/x and see for YOURSELVES.. ya savvy ?
early access is not an excuse for them to do nothing. i mean for pete sake cloud imperium gaming a diff studio. always always no matter what try their up most best to fix any issues that appear/crop up. i wont name the game that cig is to do with. but yes anyone that knows the game they are working on currently knows how much of a colossal work that game is for those devs.
so i am sure if cig can fix their game bugs then im sure grapeshot can sort the measely issue of graphical problems out. i mean come ooonnn its been a year that this graphic problem started happening and they still havent fixed it.. its time that they do fix it.
That sounds frustrating, especially on a Series X with powerful hardware. It's odd that you're experiencing lower graphics compared to your older Xbox One. Have you tried checking for any game updates or console settings that might help improve the graphics? You can also find a guide on this at I hope that helps!
In the PC version there were many adjustable graphics settings under General Options. In my Xbox X
The Graphics button is white (not blue) and will not expand. All other settings are blue and functional . Is this correct that I cannot chahange settings from Medium to Ultra?
I am running a 4K 60 Hz Monitor.
Series S uses medium/high settings. Series X is high/ultra. According to Digital Foundry.
You cant change the settings at present, presumably as the games already as optimised as it can get settings wise, any changes would most likely tank the performance.
Loving it on my X so far.

What is your current game version number? 1.50.7.2300

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It occurs randomly during gameplay on my console after a few hours.
What happens when the bug occurs? In the middle of gameplay the game stops suddenly and I get a blue loading screen with spinning plumbob and a message that says "We are updating your graphics settings so that you can continue to enjoy playing The Sims 4".
What do you expect to see? If there is something I need to change on my console settings myself, I expect it to tell me what to do to avoid this happening. I haven't changed any settings myself and can't find any mention of this message anywhere affecting others. I've done a console reset twice and reinstalled all my content twice. I've power cycled numerous times.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. It started a few months ago around the time I started to get a lot of crashing on save and exit and sometimes on travel or CAS then eventually on loading too. I already mentioned this on the feed about crashing on save and exit but it was suggested the 2 things weren't linked. It started after installing cottage living if memory serves me correctly.
I'm extremely unhappy with the stability of the Sims 4 especially after purchasing a next gen Xbox specifically for this game after my Xbox one couldn't cope with all the content I had, it works fine for it's new owner with several games installed.
I'm trying to get to the bottom of it myself but a lot of the research I'm doing mentions that graphics issues can cause crashing. So I want a definitive answer from devs or someone on the subject. I've spent so much money but every day I have issues, it takes 3 attempts to load my game now and I often have to restart my console in the middle of loading as it freezes. I play around 4/5 hours every single day. The 2 things did start around the same time so instead of putting up with the message I'm trying to get it resolved. If there is something that I need to change on my console to avoid this then I need to know, I've had enough of it now. If it's not linked to crashing then ok, that needs investigation for all of us separately as we have already reported. But everything I'm reading says graphics issues are a big factor in crashing. I had no problems with my brand new console before Cottage Living. I'd uninstall it if I hadn't used it in so many households.
I don't work or have any association with EA. I give advice to the best of my knowledge and cannot be held responsible for any damage done to your computer/game.
Please only contact me via PM when asked to do so.
@simsplayer818 If there's no noticeable difference in graphics, this does not sound like the bug reported. The crashing is a longstanding issue that the QA team has been working on. I've heard less of this issue being reported as time goes on and since the graphics screens started being reported, so I think it may be old saves still affected. You can find more information here [XB] Crashing during travel, save the game, entering/exiting build mode
I bought a new Xbox series S on December 23rd hoping the game would play better on a next gen console. Since the day I bought it I've encountered this issue. The game pauses while playing, pops up a screen that says it is currently changing graphic settings so I can continue to play. This happened once or twice when I only owned base game. It is now happening regularly. Thinking the Xbox runs smoother than the PS4 I cashed in my credit card points& bought every pack over vacation. I'm now unable to load a few lots without crashing every time I try.
I thought the loading screen saying the system is adjusting my graphics was a feature of the Xbox next gen. I didn't realize it could be a sign of bigger problems. I last owned an Xbox in 2009. Frankly I'm pretty upset to have spent so much stashed digital cash on something I answered own on PS4 & PC only to learn it's just as broken on Xbox.
Here is a xbox video capture where brightness pumping is visible.
Situation most easily found in Nrburgring Nordschleife later half when the sun reflects from rear window. Track time set to noon, weather clear.
have just updated to the latest update (7.7.0) and the graphics are absolutely horrendous. Turned the sharpness within dbd settings, all the way up but makes 0 difference.
can hardly make out survivor facial features.
the auras of survivors/doors/windows when on hook are extremely fuzzy and when another survivor is picked up the outline for their body is horrendous.
The Xenos is a custom graphics processing unit (GPU) designed by ATI (now taken over by AMD), used in the Xbox 360 video game console developed and produced for Microsoft. Developed under the codename "C1",[1] it is in many ways related to the R520 architecture and therefore very similar to an ATI Radeon X1800 XT series of PC graphics cards as far as features and performance are concerned. However, the Xenos introduced new design ideas that were later adopted in the TeraScale microarchitecture, such as the unified shader architecture.[2] The package contains two separate dies, the GPU and an eDRAM (manufactured by NEC), featuring a total of 337 million transistors.
The TeraScale microarchitecture is based on this chip, the shader units are organized in three SIMD groups with 16 processors per group, for a total of 48 processors. Each of these processors is composed of a 5-wide vector unit (total 5 FP32 ALUs), resulting in 240 units, that can serially execute up to two instructions per cycle (a multiply and an addition). All processors in a SIMD group execute the same instruction, so in total up to three instruction threads can be simultaneously under execution.
