FlexScan monitors from EIZO are equipped with sophisticated energy-saving features, are produced in accordance with international environmental regulations, and conserve resources thanks to their long useful life.

EIZO RadiForce medical imaging monitors have been at the forefront of the medical industry, helping professionals run effective diagnostics for x-rays, cross-sectional imaging, sonography, and endoscopy, to name a few.

Eizo monitors last longer*, consume less energy and help eliminate eye strain and headaches from long days of monitor viewing. With excellent OH&S friendly ergonomics and a minimalist frame design (choose from black or white), FlexScan monitors seamlessly fit in with the decor of any home, office or studio.

These large 60, 58 and 55 inch monitors allow for flexible display of different modality images on one screen without distracting frames between individual pictures. The monitors' redundant components and LED backlight make them ideal for long-term stable and reliable use in the operating room.

The Raptor RP4325 is the industry's first 4K x 2K monitor developed specifically for ATC. It combines the features of EIZO's line of primary control monitors while adding further value with 4K resolution, unique functionality, and operational reliability.

EIZO has been developing and producing high-quality monitors and display solutions since 1968 for use in office environments, the healthcare industry, graphic design, image processing, design and video production, video surveillance and air traffic control.

When it comes down to precision and reliability, EIZO monitors' strengths lie in their top quality and investment security. You will find the right monitor to meet your requirements for industrial use among our specialised monitors.

EIZO provides air traffic control centres, towers, and training & simulation facilities with the most extensive lineup of monitors, recording & streaming solutions, and graphics boards in the industry.

I've had several Eizo monitors. My Flexiscan last 10 yrs and I had clocked over 4 yrs of full time use based on the internal usage counter. The screen now looks grainy and was difficult to calibrate, so i used it just to surf on the web. Pixel density is nothing like a retina monitor!

I would suggest getting a modern screen as screen technology has improved so much since 10 years ago. Also the CG monitors were guaranteed for 2-5yrs so you are well past the expected usage of the monitor. Repair costs would be astronomical should it go wrong.

I do trust prad de reviews and my eye.
Current Eizo line-up has many high quality LCD monitors for every use, including those high-end use. NEC is not even close with their offer of monitors for color critical work nowadays.
By the way, PA271 is inferior screen. It has no ATW layer. The IPS glow on PA271 is very pronounced. Panel uniformity was not great, even with ColorComp enebled. I wish NEC create competition to Eizo and drive quality up and prices down. Unfortunately this is not happening.

There are two levels of self calibration in the ColorEdge line-up. The highest lever has a true spectrometer system built in. The lower level (about $1000 cheaper as I recall) requires that the monitor first be calibrated with an external device; the monitor's device then maintains that calibration. In either case you set the monitor "on-time' between calibration using Eizo's Color Navigator software. I use 200 hours of on-time. You then get a message to recalibrate after 200 hours. To do the calibration, you simply turn off the monitor. The small device pops down from the top edge of the bezel. The color swatches come up. There is no user involvement. When the process is done, you simply turn the monitor back on. Eizo monitors are so consistent across the screen that they can be calibrated at the edge, rather than in the center.

There are other very good monitors available, but what makes Eizo attractive if you're not a full on colour management geek is that they come with a range of pre-sets (editing, web, etc) that makes set-up incredibly easy and straightforward. They also come with an unusually comprehensive onsite warranty.

Yes, they're expensive compared to most monitors, but they're more affordable than a new aspherical lens and will both save time and increase the level of control you have over the look of your images. If you've ever wondered why so many photographs you see posted online are hypersaturated and have blocked shadows it's in large part due to the success of the iMac - lovely computers but with monitors that are hideously bright and about as bad as it gets for editing. If you'd like any degree of nuance in your images, you can do it with an iMac but there's an awful lot of trial and error involved in taming its inherent crudeness.

We're glad you thought to ask Apple Support Communities about how to daisy-chain your monitors with your MacBook Pro. First, use the section under "Check display support" to make check display support and ports for your Mac: Use external monitors with your Mac

In 1976, the company began to manufacture industrial monitors, and in 1978 it entered the gaming market by manufacturing CRTs arcade game cabinets of Space Invaders and selling tabletop video arcade machines.[3]

In 1980, the company acquired video game developer and publisher Irem Corporation.[9] In 1981, production of computer monitors, video cassette recorders and radio cassette TVs, with a new factory opening in Hakusan.

In 1990, the company's headquarters moved to Mattō, Ishikawa, with production and sales of computer monitors under the brand NANAO beginning the following year. In 1996, the brand was unified under the name EIZO.

Production of monitors for medical imaging began in 2002, under the brand name RadiForce. In 2004 the company began production of the ColorEdge CG220, the world's first monitor capable of reproducing the Adobe RGB colorspace.[10][3] In 2005 Eizo Nanao received ISO 13485 certification as the first manufacturer of stand-alone monitors.[11][3]

You use the term "accurate colors". Isn't AdobeRGB a standard - so the picture looks the same on all monitors that support AdobeRGB. So, not color accuracy, but rather color standardization. Simply asking, so correct me if I am wrong.

While the monitor served has me well and remained in perfect working order I thought it was a good time to upgrade. The ColorEdge CS2730 released late last year seem to be an apt replacement. A drawback of the FlexScan SX2762W was the display weighed 13.6 kg (30 lbs.) and had an equally chunky bezel. The new ColorEdge in contrast is 30 percent lighter weight and more compact. While both monitors have IPS panels the CS2730 uses a wide-gamut LED reproducing 99% of the Adobe RGB color space while the SX2762W had an older style CCFL backlight with 97% Adobe RGB.

At release all monitors had a similar price tag and after 6-7 years each retain a relatively strong second-hand market value. I guess where it starts to waver is the EIZO monitors are manufactured in Japan and back by an industry leading 5-year warranty while Dell and NEC offer only a 3-year warranty and are made in China. Another thing to remember is condition is everything, and original packaging makes a world of difference which I believed may have helped push the price up with this specific monitor.
