"txt" downloads not working

I am trying to download all the "txt" files and I changed the default
settings so that it did not open in a new window, and when I try and
download all the "txt" they open up at the bottom of the page in
little frames, and doesn't save them to the download directory.

It's written on multiple places that downloading doesn't work for files Chrome can open natively. TXT is one of these. I cannot do anything about it unless Google creates API for that.
