Throughout April, consumers can find an event near them to test drive electric vehicles and learn more about the EV experience from owners. Events will occur across 39 states, including Hawaii, with additional events in Canada.
Last year U.S. consumers bought more than 1.4 million electric vehicles, which includes all-electric models and plug-in hybrids. Industry experts expect car manufacturers to sell more than that this year, making DEEM events a critical tool in educating the public.

Like every other computer program you're going to run into problems. Thank God CAD-Earth has Hector! In the past 5 years or more we've encountered a gliche and Hector is there to bail us out! 10 Stars for a hard working man! Thank you Hector!
Application works fine, but in order to use it, I have to block all Google applications from updating. Please fix that. This is not an acceptable solution in my case. Technical support response time quite good.
Hi. CAD-Earth V6.1.4 is now available. This update has the following improvements: -Works with any Google Earth version installed, including the most recent. -Has the option to select the Cesium terrain provider (www.cesium.com) to calculate terrain point elevations. -It can get images directly from the Google Image Server. You don't have to install Google Earth 7.3.2 64-bit and rename the file GoogleUpdate.exe unless you select the option to get point elevations and images directly from Google Earth instead of Cesium Terrain Server and the Google Image Server.
I've downloaded the latest CAD-Earth v5.1.24 and everything works fine now. The image registration issues have been corrected and now I can work with Google Earth Pro 32 and 64-bit versions. Installation is simplified and is no longer necessary to restart my computer after installation. The support ticket system is working and I can chat with technical support at their website.
I downloaded the trial and had some small issues regarding the import of images from Google Earth, which turned out to be a fault on my part because I didnt select the correct coordinate system to start with and had my units in meters instead of feet. Technical support replied promptly to my email and even gave me remote support via Teamviewer and in a few minutes all was resolved.
I have tired virtually all of the functions, importing from Google Earth and exporting to Google Earth and have found them to work exactly as expected. Watching the app access Google Earth, import an image and then trim the image to my boundary polyline automatically is nice.I was able to export objects to AutoCAD objects to Google Earth effortlessly and then create a kmz to send to my client with the objects nicely overlaid.I'm very pleased with this app and have purchased a permanent license. The license activation could be made a little bit smoother, but the functionality deserves all 5 stars. Also full marks for tech support as I received a timely answer to a question that I submitted.
Tried to import a google image; the dialogue is fairly simple to understand, but after going through the steps, I got a picture with a blue background with "evaluation copy" written all over it. I get the watermark, since it is a trial, but both times I tried it making sure I had the right coordinate system, the background was always blue, which makes me believe I hit water both times, instead of where I was supposed to be.
Included with Google Earth Enterprise is an example of how to implement the Google Earth Plugin in /opt/google/gehttpd/htdocs/earth/earth_local.html. By default, the virtual servers point to earth_local.html when accessing globes through a web browser. Please note, however, that the Google Earth Plugin is deprecated and is not supported by modern browsers.
Earthed plug2010/2/12 07:17 I recently bought this electricity converter to use in Japan: -4dx...
But I told the shop assistent I was a bit worried about the earthed part (the rounded metal thingy) as I maybe thought older Japanese homes and hotels don't have a hole to fit it in.
She said to me there should be some place they have this and earthed is much safer for things like my camera and such.
Can anyone tell me if they know about where and how commom these are used?
Thanks in advance!by Mahamachi (guest)
adaptor2010/2/12 11:32 You will find that adapter practically useless in japan, 99% of plug sockets have just the two flat blade prongs and not the round earth prong. as dave said sometimes in an office you might find an earthed socket ,but they are very unusual.your camera and computer will be fine. the only things that i have seen with an earth are washing machines, they have a separate earth cable and a special earth socket separate from the power outlet. If you want to use your electrical stuff here send it back and get a normal flat blade two prong domestic adaptor.by uknickrate this post as useful
converter2010/2/12 11:46 As mentioned, the converter you purchased will not work in most Japanese outlets without an additional plug adapter, with the notable exception of some of the larger international hotel chains. I'd suggest either returning the converter for a 2 prong model, or pick up a cheap plug adapter to go along with your voltage converter. They look like this:

Personally, I would not be concerned about grounding your chargers, laptop, etc. and many chargers often are not grounded anyway. Grounding, by the way, doesn't protect your equipment, rather it protects you from getting electrocuted by your equipment. If you are concerned about voltage spikes then I'd carry a surge protector. In fact, a small powerstrip with a built in surge protector would be an excellent addition to your travel kit as it would allow you to plug in more than one device at a time.by yllwsmrfrate this post as useful
non-polarized two identical blades2010/2/13 03:28 For the one you bought the two flat blades appear identical from the pic. In that case don't return but just cut off the round prong. Or go to Lowe's or Home Depot & buy a 50cent adapter but make sure the two blades are non-polarized. It means two blades are identical in shape & size.
The adapter posted from Amazon is not the correct type because it is polarized, one blade is fat(wide) at the tip of one blade, which is typical for US and if used in Japan, you will break the plastic receptacle. If you buy it, just cut off or file off the fat end. Or buy it in Japan.by amazinga (guest)rate this post as useful
Misinformation about polarized sockets2010/2/13 11:43 The information above (about plugs with polarized pins not being able to be used in Japan) is often repeated in forums like this, but is out of date. Since the 1990s, polarized sockets have become standard in Japan - even though plugs still have identically-sized pins.by Dave in Saitama (guest)rate this post as useful

I can also confirm the adapter pictured will work in Japan as I use US bought ones pretty much daily in Japan. Also I found that its much easier to purchase these at home before leaving rather than running around trying to find a store that carries them once you land.
Also, I think the OP may be from the Netherlands considering the website they linked to. In that case you will need at least a plug adapter to use your devices in Japan.by yllwsmrfrate this post as useful
AC power plugs and sockets connect devices to mains electricity to supply them with electrical power. A plug is the connector attached to an electrically-operated device, often via a cable. A socket (also known as a receptacle or outlet) is fixed in place, often on the internal walls of buildings, and is connected to an AC electrical circuit. Inserting ("plugging in") the plug into the socket allows the device to draw power from this circuit.
