There is no entry in Programs and Features nor in the newer Windows 10 utility. A KB article pointed me to a tool inside Brother's utilities. However, that did not uninstall everything. Another tool uninstall the WIA drivers for the printer and scanner.
I have PM'd AZorin about the help page as I don't think the Brother tool is needed - this item installs all packages in one go - I think it is better to just install the .deb packages using Gdebi Package Manager.
As well as downloading Brother drivers, you can also access specific XML Paper Specification printer drivers, driver language switching tools, network connection repair tools, wireless setup helpers and a range of BRAdmin downloads.
I sell brother printers. That's a part to be thrown away when setting up the printer. It's supposed to keep the internal plumbing sealed. There is ink in the printer plumbing from the onset and that part keeps the ink from drying up until you install the ink cartridges.

The scanned document is placed in a folder named "brscan" in your home directory. This does not seem to be easily configurable without editing /opt/brother/scanner/brscan-skey/scripts/scantofile.sh directly and changing the OUTPUT variable on line 16.
