I recently had an opportunity to try out a bow by Jean Grunberger,
French style, retailing for $4500 at Robertson's in Albuquerque. Tried
several by Reid Hudson and others, and they were all excellent, but the
Grunberger stood out above the rest in my opinion for the way it was
balanced above everything else. It was as if just holding it changed my
bowing technique. The bow had a bit of extra length at the frog which I
think was the contributing factor to the feel of it. It's qualities of
resonance, responsiveness, bounce, and dynamic were all excellent.

What makers do others like and why? What was the best bow you ever
tried and what made it great?
