Memory changes in Jetson Nano

Recently there has been a hardware change in Jetson Nano, which is supporting only Jetpack 4.6.5. Do we have any plans to support Jetpack 4.6.5, the latest Jetson Nano hardware is not booting with Jetpack 4.4.1?

NVIDIA discontinued the old jetson nano in 2022 and didn't provide any hardware update since then. We support jetpack 5.x for the new nano (orin).

I'm not aware of any memory change for the old nano. Please provide a link to NVIDIA website mentioning it.

They have changed the DRAM to PCN211181. Which make Jetpack version 4.4.1 incompatible with the latest Jetson Nano 4GB

Supporting new jetpack version requires a lot of work and we only do it if it's absolutely necessary.

I see you're the author of the post on NVIDIA forum. I don't have clear idea on the issue yet: don't know if the patch required, if the patch works on 4.4.1, if a patch for 4.4.1 exist...

Our roadmap is to go for jetpack 6.x

A quick read suggest there is no hardware change for jetson. You're applying a kernel patch available for 4.6.5. You're not required to apply that patch.

I have asked a friend working for nvidia, he's not aware of hardware change on jetson leading to incompatibility with jetpack 4.4.x.

I personally tried booting up the Jetson Nano 4GB Module by flashing it JetPack 4.4.1 on emmc, it keeps going into boot cycle.

Unfortunately I cannot add that jetpack to the roadmap. I already have jetpack 6.x on it

Got it working by using the below steps to flash

sudo tar -xjf Tegra210_Linux_R32.4.4_aarch64.tbz2

cd Linux_for_Tegra/rootfs/

sudo tar -xjf Tegra_Linux_Sample-Root-Filesystem_R32.4.4_aarch64.tbz2

cd ..

sudo ./apply_binaries.sh

cd ..
sudo tar xpf overlay_32.7.5_PCN211181.tbz2

cd Linux_for_Tegra

sudo ./flash.sh jetson-nano-emmc mmcblk0p1
